Poros Mercenary Connections - Bounty Hunting, Run by Players

I'm Kendra Agon, CEO of the newly founded Poros Mercenary Connections corporation. The idea behind Poros Mercenary Connection (PMC) is that in the current EVE system, it is too hard for someone to both adequately place a bounty, and for bounty hunting to be a profitable career.

PMC serves only as a service for creating, listing, and collecting bounties in a new way in EVE - via player to player interaction, through a third party (PMC).

Rather than write out a rather long and confusing paragraph, let me take you through how PMC will function, step by step.

1. Someone wants to place a bounty on another player in the game.

2. Through PMC, that person has the option of placing a bounty either anonymously, or publicly. This is done by either sending the isk and target name directly to me (Kendra Agon), whose wallet is not public via API, or sending isk and a target name to the PMC Corp Wallet, which is made public via API.

3. Targets are specified by the person placing the bounty by placing a name in the "reason" field when sending isk. If the person wishes, they can set specific parameters on a bounty - from a minimum isk value to number of involved parties, anything goes. However, this will likely decrease the likelihood that your bounty gets taken up and executed! Any special conditions are sent with the target name in the title to me (Kendra Agon). I will pass all these details on to possible hunters.

4. For now, all the bounty placer has to do is sit back, and wait for a hunter to complete their bounty.

5. Now, we head over to the prospecting hunter. **Hunters are required to have a valid, verified API with PMC to recieve any payouts from placed bounties.** PMC has a special mailing list where all bounties will be posted (PMC Bounties). All a hunter has to do is find one they want, and then once the deed is done, send in a mail with the target name in the title and the killmail attached to receive their payment. By default, all payments are 100% of isk value killed - so if someone has a bounty of 100 million isk on their head in total, someone who kills them in something worth 80 million and sends in the mail will be rewarded with 80 million isk, with a remaining pool of 20 million isk.

6. After a bounty is paid out, the placer of the bounty will be notified.

And that's it! If you have questions, or want more information, please feel free to comment here or send Kendra Agon a mail in game.

P.S. - If at any time you wish to review the process for either collecting or placing a bounty, the Poros Mercenary Connections corporation description as well as the PMC Bounties welcome mail should have answers to any FAQ.

your not the first to try and do this. at the end of the day, to most this looks a bit dodgy, almost scam like. for one, the way you have written it, the bounty hunters choose the targets they wish to hunt so your target may never be chosen and its a waste, 2 i would ask that you provide some examples of your work as how are we to know the money isnt just going into the corp and when you feel you have enough it gets closed. there is a reason why there are no good long lasting bounty hunter services as there is too much grey area. thats just my gloomy 2 cent. tbh im just waiting till they fix the bounty system, if ever.

While it's natural for everyone to assume scams, I'm trying my best to assure you that I'm not trying to scam you. I've made the corp wallet public via API, so anyone can take a look at any time.

Also, regarding your statement on "wasted bounties" - I may have forgotten to mention it, but all bounties placed through my service are rescindable - if time passes and you wish to remove a bounty, any isk still in the bounty pool you placed will be returned to you. That means if nobody has collected any of a placed bounty, you can recall 100% of your pool - effectively, losing no isk.

I'm also looking in to using Chribba to start out, to get people to trust me - though he has a fee, so that would involve me requiring overpaying on a bounty to get a value you want, something I'm fairly sure most people don't want to do.

Perhaps if you have restraints, you might simply try placing a small bounty first, and I can show that I'm trustworthy?

How will this end up any different than the EIB or Curring Trading ponzi scheme? At some point you get a lot of isk, and just decide to keep it and shut down the alt.

Everything requires some level of trust. Since EVE is largely quite paranoid about their money, I'm willing to use Chribba as a third party for isk holding, to show that I'm not trying to steal your money.

So basicaly... you want to be a third party using a third party to get mercs to pew someone?

I personally view bounties as a token of affection and i try to bounty myself as much as I can afford it (sadly i`m poor Cry) But to give you the benifit of the doupt, may I suggest you bounty me (alot) and then send whomever you wish after me.

Yes?

p.s. No you can`t use the people already out to kill me, I want fresh antimatter Pirate

I'M not having fun until YOU'RE not having fun.

i dont understand what you gain from doing all this, aside from notoriety. so you dont collect any isk as being the third party, yet go to these lengths to set something up like this. i would also like to point you to a post a few down from this by eve online bounty. set up something similar only it looks more organised but all the same points shine through with that also. trust will be very hard to build up initially as this kind of service is comical to us as opposed to more needed third party services like chribba. not that im trying to shoot you down but if you go ahead and start this you will be fighting an uphill battle with all the same kinds of questions we are brining up in this forum. never the less good luck.

You're actually right - I stand to gain a grand total of 0 isk from this entire project. From the beginning, I never intended this to be a way to make a profit, simply a way to improve on a system I view as fundamentally broken. I really feel that this would improve the system, and thus the game and people's experiences in it.

Regarding EVE Online Bounty - I did see that. However, EOB has several things I don't, the biggest of which is a profit system. EOB will take a rather large (20%) cut of a bounty collected by any "unverified" hunter, and a 10% cut on the "verified" hunters - while I require all my hunters to submit a (fairly noninvasive) API key, all hunters receive a full payment, and I get no cut of it. While that may sound scammy to some, you'll have to believe me that I'm really just a player like you who wants to see the game be a better, more interactive place!
