Hammerhead II x5

most often i am a solo pvper, i am posting with an alt and will not give out further information regarding my main.

basicly, my mate wants to fly a VNI with me in combat - i cannot come up with a reasonable fit for this ship so im asking here for some advice, ive tried shield tanking it, armor tanking it, twin-repping it, can't seem to make it 'work', ei. be able to close range, have good dps/tank and have reliable capacitor, at least not all in the same fit.

any help will be extremely appreciated.

I have absolutely no experience flying either, so take this with a grain of salt...

I have flown the vexor and thorax solo and in teams. The Thorax is always primary, so we would put small blasters and bait tank it. (i think you can fit both a 1600 and 800 plate on it - and this was before medium trimarks or acr). We would fit the vexor for pure gank (700ish dps iirc). The Thorax carries ECM drones. Vexor carries ecm, damage drones. You can figure out the rest...

Or another random idea - since its a vexor, you dont need the highs for damage, or mids for real tackle if the vigilant will be doing it. Neut fit the vexor, and/or have RR of your flavor in the highs. Cap booster in mids, etc.

Easiest way to do it woukd be to test your team fittings in the T1 versions first. Figure out what you like, then upgrade to the more 'blingy' versions.
