"All the capsuleer needs to do is keep up the pace of destruction."

Unfortunately the reverse is true; it's the MTU that cannot keep up. A faster version is required, and I don't mean the named versions.

T2 MTU to tractor at 2k/s; double the speed of the T1. Sounds good, doesn't break the game.

The idea is it does the job for you but slower than you can do it if you did it yourself. Bring on the tractor bubble drags in wrecks within 50km! :D

The main issue is actually that it starts close and works out. It should start far and work in so your own tractor beams can work also.

Make this the sole advantage of a t2 version and I'd support it.

Talking more,

Flying crazier,

And drinking more

Making battleships worth the warp

In your mad dash to look "cool" did you even read the post? The subject is speed of tractor, not salvaging. Do keep up.

It's called a Noctis. You want speed efficiency, get that. You want autonomy, stick with the MTUs we have already. You want both, tough ****, no one gets (or rather, I should say, "should get") both upsides to anything without giving up something in return.

Now, changing it's parameters to prioritize wrecks further out over those closer rather than the way it is now, the opposite, I'm all for.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Get an alt to follow you in a savager or better yet remember this is an MMO and find someone to work with

While I appreciate your solution, the noctis has two drawbacks that make it unsuitable.

  1. Its drone bay is too small and it lacks the bandwidth to deploy sentries, meaning I wouldn't be able to tackle the missions that yield the best loot.
  2. It cannot fit an MJD so, even if it could use sentries, it lacks the ability to distance itself from the targets.

For a clean-up operation, I agree: the noctis is king. However, I believe you misread my OP. I'm wanting an upgrade on the MTU to improve the speed at which I collect the wrecks while I'm creating them. Hope that clarifies the subject of this topic.

A note to those who believe reversing the priority of wrecks - from nearest first to furthest first - would not improve matters. It would take exactly the same duration to tractor in the wrecks as it does now. Think about it.

then buy a marauder and use that and a mtu, cherry pick the best wrecks yourself and leave the crap for the mtu.

In your mad dash to look "cool" did you even read the reply? He said so that it can work with your own tractor beams.
Also, if you want people to know what you're talking about, say what you're talking about, not some riddle that people reading on autopilot won't understand.
Also, it might not break the game, but it invalidates the main use of the faction ones. Unless you use the faction ones to make it harder to probe, but that's just weird.

Your attempt to claw back some cred has failed. I have no tractors, which is why I use an MTU. Do keep up.

How about have a T2 MTU that tractors faster the wrecks? Saves spending loads of isk on a T2 ship, and solves in one the problem outlined in the OP. You solution is valid, but a bit over the top.

ITT: OP whines for easier mission running and snaps hostile remarks at people who point out that the MTU being slower than a Noctis it totally intended.

No, the speed is ok for a completely automated version. If you want more speed, use a dedicated salvager. And no, you don't fit sentries on it as your bewildering reply earlier suggested. You use this incredible "bookmark" system to come back to your wrecks and tractor them in to loot and salvage with the Noctis.

No whining apparent. Your attempt to demean me has failed.

As to your inability to understand what I have written: my requirement is for an MTU that keeps pace with my killing. I would have thought that requirement had been made obvious, so a noctis will not meet the requirement. Are you now less bewildered?
