The recent small patch has now got the launcher stuck at 'Validating Client'.

here is the pastebin

http://pastebin.com/W7h4MfFe

when I try to run the repair tool it states that it failed to repair. The log is below.

Please do not tell me I have to redownload EvE. I live on a beach in the Philippines with the worst internet on the planet that is capped out if I download over 5GB a month to 20kb/s

Any ideas?

I can tell you that uninstalling and then reinstalling did not work for me. I seem to run into the same issue on the install I got when the launcher tried to patch and I ran the repair tool.

Same problem here, different error message.

Here is my Repair Tool Log.

Here is my Eve Launcher Error Message.

I have had the same, i uninstalled the game and went to reinstall, all i get is a dos box pop up and when ive managed to see the line it simply says

"not enough memory" and thats it. My system specs are bare minimum but are still above the basic requirement for EvE and worked fine prior to the latest patch.

Just tried downloading the 'offline' installer and get same message

"Program too big to fit in memory"

When i google this i get lots of reference to the installer being corrupt and incorrect headers

I just got done trying all that clearing the cache stuff on the launcher and it only further broke my launcher.... it would briefly blink when opened and then go immediately unresponsive, hour glass even mousing over any part of the window. If I tried to interact with the window or click on something else on my computer I would be greeted by a greyed over launcher with a prompt saying it wasn't responding.

So I tried patching it back to TQ, and it seems to work fine, so its not the install, and the launcher itself seems to be working when directed to TQ. But only hangs when I try to tell it to connect to Sisi. After that I thought maybe it was because my Sisi shortcut had an IP address in the server option, so I set it back to Singularity, still no dice.

How does one fix this? For the time being I can't even connect back to Sisi because the files are patched for TQ now after trying to repair the launcher, even trying to use the evefile.exe workaround, incompatible build or somesuch. I don't want to have to start completely from scratch on my Sisi install.

Still no go.... I just made a new copy of Sisi for kicks and giggles because what else am I doing on a Friday night waiting for my soccer game to start in a couple hours... still getting the exact same hang upon opening the launcher when it is directed at Singularity.

To re-clarify, I can double click the eve launcher (in the sisi folder), and it opens and starts patching to TQ. But when it is directed towards Sisi, hangs. Guess I won't have to worry about CCP ignoring feedback since I can't get connected to give proper feedback as requested.

Still no reply to my petition but I was able to get EVE to install using the torrent download someone does in this forum. I downloaded and then ran the installer as Admin. The install went slower than it seemed to when I tried the direct download but it went to the end and the launcher came up. It seems to me what is happening for whatever reason is the files are not downloading properly from CCP where the torrent bypassed whatever is causing the issue and worked to download everything 100%.

An interesting tidbit that will hopefully help some of u guys:

I recently pulled my nvidia card out of my main machine to use in another machine, defaulting said machine back to the on-board grafx. It had been working just fine until, well untill it didnt, lol.

So out of desperation for something to do while awaiting a response to my ticket I went ahead and put the original card back in the machine. viola, everything updates and runs smooth again.

So if youve changed any hardware recently, I think its worth taking alook at reverting the change to see if that helps. Another possibility may be to delete your current vid drivers, then re-install and/or maybe update) them.

I have exactly the same problem. Seems to error around the 37% updated mark and the repair tool only get's up to the block checking bit before it also crashes.

There has been no changes on my computer since yesterday so no idea what may be causing the problem.
I will do what Ssabat says and download the drivers again plus check everything is seated into the motherboard.

Edit: Blast no luck.

Error log for the devs if they may know anything about it.
I would try re-installing eve but from what others have said here it sounds like it will make things worse

Edit 2: I just ended up deleting eve and re-installing it. Fixed and is working fine now.

maybe the checksum file is corrupted.

In the users profile

C:\Users\ (your user name here) \AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\e_games_ccp_eve

There is a file called Checksums.

Delete that.

Rerun repair.exe in your Eve installation folder (not from your eve launcher). Delete something else in that folder to make sure the repair.exe completely runs (if you need an item to delete, remove _access_check_ and manifest.dat for t

Also maybe the drive has a bad file sector on it. Run checkdisk on it (the basic one should be fine).

Other than that.. Dunno

Yaay!!!!
