I am surprised there aren't anniversary rewards for vets.

Here almost 11 years and for me once the pleasure hubs left the game hard to stay motivated... Lol

New Belgium Brewing provides a 12 pack a week for employees.

After one year you get a sweet bike

Five years the owner takes you on a tour of Belgium brew houses....on your bike.

After 10 years you get a four week sabbatical.

It would be interesting to mark anniversary dates based on longevity.

"How to hold old players?"

Apparently the answer to that was "Pheobe".

What they don't tell you is that after 20 years, you become part of the recipe...

The way to 'hold' old players is for ccp to keep making a quality game an not obsess as much about it (or getting 'new players') as people on these forums do.

In my case it's very simple, just give me some way to increase the fonts properly(and no the 13 and ui scaling does not even come close), getting older my eyesight is probably the one thing that makes me get the most annoyed with EVE.

As for actually playing the game, as long as you are willing to change and try new things i doubt you will ever run out
of things to do, the main burnout factor is when you focus to much on a single thing and play that into the ground.

i dont think its the game that fails to hold old players short breaks every now and then does wonders, but you will always lose a good 50% of your older players as they "grow up" not in the sense that they were childish or in fact we are childish but in the fact they get married and have children.

eve is a very time demanding game it takes time to do just about anything in eve, and time is a commodity which decreases when you start a normal family life

you have less time to play which restricts you to what you can do, like running a freighter 20 jumps and back takes a very long time and a lot of people can only play for maybe a hour or 2 a day.

time restrictions gets to the point where its almost impossible to play enough in a month to afford a plex to plex your account as well as cover costs of running the toons (ships/mods/ect) and for such a short amount of time played on top of how expensive it is to raise children its hard to justify paying a sub fee

eve is a great game it just requires a lot of spare time to play effectively and that is its biggest downfall

Probably, if you worked for CCP, instead of them working for you, you'd get these things.

You're playing a game, not doing a job.

kids these days...

Yes, because I was actually talking about getting a trip from CCP.

Read up about Thera.

Then try and complain about new content.

I've been knocking about Eve for 8 years and it's been through some rough patches. Enough to stop me playing for months at a time.

But CCP have come alive, in my humble opinion. They've tried - and achieved - more in the last twelve months than since Apocrypha.

And now Thera.

Very, very interesting times on the horizon for bsp's.

Personally, id put my arms around them from behind, maybe nuzzle their neck a little if im in the mood, if it leads to some quality spooning later on, then I guess im game.

Although my cat plays Eve quite a bit while Im at work, so she qualifies as a player, although shes only 5.. so how old is that in cat years..?. I usually wait until she crawls up on my lap, then I cradle her like a baby, then I grab her by both her front legs and both her back legs and carry her around head hunter style until she gets all growly.. then I put her down, and scratch her right by her tail. She goes into this uncontrollable licking fit when I do that.. and then she growls at me when I keep doing it.. but its all Growl-owl-owl-owl-owl-owl-owl kinda like a turkey warbling. Its freakin adorable. She will ignore me for about 20 minutes.. then we rinse and repeat. Then later on at night, if ive antagonized her enough.. ill get the kitty cat hotdrop around 2:30am.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
