While the rapid roaming and long-distance deployments of forces (aka power projection via any and all uses of the jump drive abilities and it's bridging derivatives) have been properly nerved, effective insertion of defensive fleets were also neutered.

I propose that we seek ways to retain the power projection nerf as we un-nerf the defensive deployment capabilities to some extend.

Brainstorm!

It knows what you think.

Nerfing defensive capital fleets was also one of the goals as it would make it harder for big alliances to take huge amounts of space they did need.

From what I've seen so far the changes have been great in low sec. Far more small b/c and b/s gangs roaming around now there's far less chance of being hotdropped by bored null sec alliances.

how about every alliance in nullsec comes together and decides on just one system to all live in, that way your enemies are only one jump away, then the rest can have fun just putting around in empty null.

Perhaps TEST could designate a system they'd like to have protected defender status in and CCP could provide them with unlimited jump-fatigue mitigation, while everyone else is nerfed. That way they could continue [whatever it is that TEST does] without the threat of evil-mean-people hurting them.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

One month into Phoebe and I've gotten to kill nearly twice as much as any other month in the last year. I'd say this patch is a huge positive step in the right direction for the future of null.

I do look forward to the upcoming needed sov changes, whatever they may be. Post-phoebe borders aren't really changing much, as timers still make it possible to bring your super blob to bear from regions away. I look forward to further localization, where maintaining your sov actually requires that you live and defend locally.
