The dangers of making EVE safer or more new player friendly

The way it is now, EVE universe is already pretty over-crowded on popular hours, like weekends. And even for the already existing player base, the content can often feel quite lacking.

Want to mine? Oops, all belts are already mined out. Wish I could kill all those miners.
Want to do some high sec exploration? Oops, 10+ other people around are doing the same. Wish I could kill all those damn explorers.
Want to do some low/null sec exploration? Oops, you need a T3 cause thouthands are swarming around null trying to do the same. Wish I could kill all of them in this Probe having 1-3m SP.
Want to do some L4 missions with corpies? Oops, you have been wardeced by guys that enjoy killing people like you. Wish I was in a mercenary corp and we could wipe the floor with those guys instead of doing these stupid missions and count losses on the killboard.
Want to extend your soverenity in null? Oops, the cluster can't handle 500+ people shooting each other. Wish CCP had better servers or fewer players.
And so on and so forth...

The only part of EVE that can relatively benefit from the curernt situation are those who have fun killing, griefing, and exploiting other players while they try to find some other types of content in the game.

Just too many contenders for the very limited space and goodies that EVE has to offer.

So, every time you let a tear through and start thinking about making EVE safer and more new player friendly, think about this. Maybe it could be better to ask CCP to improve the platform and provide more content to start with?

Otherwise, you may find yourself having nothing to explore/mine/shoot when you log on. And more painfully so, being unable to try and prevent others from stealing the content from you by ganking, griefing, awoxing, wardecing them, and such. Since having that as an alternative content may only exist as long as there are other players and while the EVE universe isn't safe.

TL;DR: In its current state, EVE can't handle any more players or lose content that is already lacking. So stop trying to make the game grow or become safer until there is a stable platform and enough of content for everybody, be them good or evil or changing moods.

You may want to leave the jita area.

Easy fix, just move to a less crowded area, they are all over the place.

Stopped there as there is no point when the first sentence is wrong.

High sec may be crowded but not the EVE universe. The crowding of high sec is a self nerf. With finite resources (finite reward), you get less per person (character). That makes low, null and WH more rewarding comparatively.

However, I suspect that most people will just put up with it because they are there because of the difference in politics and mechanics that govern each type of space. High sec isn't too crowded yet.

CCP's true, butthurt, colors.

Because those who can't do themselves keep others from doing too.

Is this is in bizzaroland where Eve has 3,000,000 logged on? I can't recall ever seeing a shortage of belts, exploration sites (well I guess people do crowd the few Guristas ones, but either do the other ones, go to lowsec, or do something else), etc... If anything highsec still seems kinda empty to me for the most part.

If only that were true...

CCP has no sense of humour.

It's theoretically true for mining. Certainly true for exploration, if that were worth anything in the first place besides DED sites.

3. Ranting is prohibited.

A rant is a post that is often filled with angry and counterproductive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and is helpful in development of the game and community. Rants are disruptive, and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise and clear manner while avoiding going off on rambling tangents.

I would encourage you to recommend constructive solutions to the problems you perceive within EVE on the Features & Ideas board. Ranting isn't constructive dialogue. We all want to improve our part of space, but we must be constructive in doing so.
