So a wormhole that has landmarks in it alongside a static connection to K space.

Thera sounds alot like Terra.

Are we going home?

The fix to the blue doughnut:

A) Ignore the blue doughnut.
B) N/A

I'm not sure how often CCP focuses on lore. I didn't imagine it would have such an impact on GD. Thera this, Thera that. Will we get home, will Earth humans be cyborgs. Will they eat our babies, weaponize capsuleers, bring forth the destruction of EVE cluster, will there be a war. Will PVE be great.

Loads of wormhole systems have static k-space connections. I reckon it will be the research hub for the new stargates, maybe including the first player-built one.

You mean all the 30 minutes that takes to add a new system to the game?

And without capitals the large groups are unable to claim it. All the large groups are lazy dudes thatlost their small gang warfare skills long ago.

It will be like he claims, mos esley, full of criminals. Make the station guns themselves extra powerful and you keep things under moderate control.

I am really curious on how CCP plans to balance this. I mean it cannot be to goal to have this new system just for ganking purposes, right?

Well actually.

The point of this topic was that Thera might lead back to our original solar system and earth...

Thera = Terra.

Thera = Terra.

Or it might not. Why not go with the more likely option of Thera=Thera? The leap to Terra is only the difference of a few letters, but it's still a leap for no particular reason.

Either way the stations will have to come from somewhere in the lore.

Might be sleeper stations, or jove stations.

Might be Terra stations, I'm just theorycrafting here.

It's space Atlantis.

Thera is another name for Atlantis used by sneaky writers. It's a real island near Greece that sank because of a volcano. So, lots of people think it started the Atlantis story.

February 2014: " A real new region to explore. Not wormhole, something bigger, more exciting and less unstable. My idea for this new region is giving the opportunity to everyone to be like the great explorers, visite unique landscapes and find a corner to build colonies. With a specific mechanic to avoid blocs/supremacy." Aram Kachaturian, CSM Candidate

November 2014: " Thera is to be a hybrid wormhole system with unique mechanics combining aspects of wormhole, nullsec, and lowsec space. No capital ships or POS will be allowed or built within this system [...] attractive to alliances on deployments, sightseers, and PvP-hungry pilots. A unique sun, multiple unique nebulae, new station colors, and other new graphics will add to the flair." CCP Rise

Earth is for when EvE gets a WoW size sub base. We aren't there yet.

Don't hold your breath... but don't discount it either. I think we're entering a new golden age for EvE.

Probably because Thera is an anagram of Earth (same letters, differently ordered)

Tbh, I wonder about the new 'Wormhole' systems they announced (yes multiple, Thera just sucked most attention) They seem to differ from normal W-space with their static K-space connections and inability to build POS & have NPC stations (albeit unknown if the other new systems have stations)

I don't know how to pronounce Thera. However it looks like the Ra, who is the Egyptian god of sun.
