To be clear, being a PvE player, and advocating for a safer highsec is not "trolling." You might want to look up the definition of that word.

Really? Where?

Would you care to address the contents of the CSM 9 minutes quote in post #95 where CCP Rise says that the data they (CCP) have doesn't back up the "newbies leave Eve because of harassment" theory that you keep trumpeting as fact ?

All you've done is trot out the same old tripe every time, while actually skirting the points you claim to have answered. Have you considered a career in politics or ambulance chasing?

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

No, this is what is frustrating about talking to you.....you twist facts to support incorrect conclusions. Nowhere did I claim that the problem in Eve is newbies getting waxxed or dueled inside or right near newbie systems.

What CCP has already stated is a problem, and is taking steps to fix, is the awoxxing mechanics whereby the fear of getting killed by corpmates causes people to stay in NPC corps, get bored, and quit the game. Apparently there is voluminous data to support that proposition. Specifically, since people don't want to get blown up in highsec, they avoid risk, stick to boring activities, and find something more fun to do.

Now that exact same phenomenon exists by suicide ganking, wardeccs, etc... I'm not sure those are as easy to handle as awoxxing, where it can be comfortably tossed overboard, but obviously to the extent that a dangerous and dystopian highsec is hurting player retention, it seems that action should be taken.

Looks less like griefing and more like baptism. If you can't deal with the realities of EVE in your first month then you should consider a different game. I mean, what's worse, losing the Venture which will take you an hour of L1 mission running to reclaim, or losing a freighter which took you weeks to save up for?

I don't mind if ganks turn away new players, for that reason. I'm more concerned about a complicated UI, poor tutorials, or the worst PVE in any MMO I've played turning away new players.

you hadn't so much as uttered a syllable with regards awoxing till you learned that its removal would be a polarising subject.

False, before I was banned from the BU in game channel I mentiond Mittens piece on getting rid of awoxxing, and said that his arguments made sense and that I expected it to happen sooner rather than later. Awoxxing NEVER made sense to me, and is one of the reasons I won't join a highsec corp.

I didn't say that you had, I worded my post very specifically to avoid it.
I called into question the validity of your claim that gankers drive newbies out of the game via mechanics you consider to be harrasment.

Although the minutes are covered by an NDA I'm fairly certain that if CCP had data that in anyway confirmed the theory that newbies quit because of harrasment it would been mentioned as it was relevant to the topic being discussed, of course I may be mistaken.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I agree with you. The game advertises that space is dangerous, if people leave the game because they discover that this is true then good riddance. To me, they would have left the game eventually anyways.

Now the much more serious problem, is new players joining the game and getting frustrated with the tutorial and UI and not even giving the game a chance. It can be argued that this is a hurdle which separates those who will stay in Eve and those who will not, but I don't think this is the case. Eve is hard and dangerous, as it should be. But being hard and being pointlessly frustrating are two different things. The current moves towards more intuitive UI is a huge step to making Eve more appealing to new players, but these moves in no way make Eve easier. That model and direction is one I'm fully in support of.

Go ask the people in the channel. Or better yet, don't make false accusations that you can't back up next time. Try to do some research first, use dispassionate and logical analysis, and you won't come across looking erratic.

2) Veers, til you provide some form of criminal content why don't you and Dr Beatrox both shimmy your asses back to I don't know ANY of the other forums where what you have to say might be relevant?
Seriously, and I mean you Veers, you waltz in here with your tin star on your chest and act like you know stuff... without the slightest hint of self-doubt or humility, and lay down the gospel of YOU on the rest of us.
This is what's stuck in my craw since you first popped your head up in C&P.
Most other folks in here have earned what respect they have through blood and fire and tears, and you walk in like you are the first and foremost authority on what is and what is not... and you wonder why you suffer continuous 'personal attacks', trolling, and whatnot. It's pretty simple, for what you've done is roughly the equivalent to walking into a biker bar and subsequently trying to convert the occupants over to your religion. That trick never works, and honestly usually results in tragedy for those who would be insane enough to try.
Respect in this particular subforum is NOT automatically granted, it is earned, and as far I and (please, anyone of repute feel free to step in here and contradict me) from what I can tell the general populace of C&P can tell, you have done nothing to earn such respect. So, until you have actually done or said something to merit the respect of those who would be willing to accept you as their peers, your opinion in these parts is going to be worth somewhat less than pod goo polluted with weird white floaty things.
This is not a troll, this is dead serious. The denizens of C&P live by fire and blood, not pissing and moaning.

That is completely accurate on all counts.

Veers, you are trolling on my thread. I count 1 post you made that even slightly related to the OP.
Please, whatever you are saying is irrelevant in this thread...Ugh

For drawing me off my own thread, I am adding 100M ISK to the bounty on the otherthread that you keep derailing this one to.
And for each subsequent post that you troll or derail this thread, I will add an additional 100M to that.

Stick to the OP, or start your own thread. Thankyou.

Actually I posted directly on topic on post 18, where I said that it's kinda lame to target new players, and I feel that blowing up ventures when you strongly suspect a noob in them is wrong. That drew the usual Grr Veers crowd, and unfortunately the ISD's didn't respond. But feel free to add to the troll bounty thread - it could use the love, and is still too low to make it worth it for me to cut a deal with someone to get the bounty. Can you add 5 billion to it? Thanks.
