Your doing it wrong. Use a frigate to fight other players and learn eve. Don't mine.

Maybe they weren't willing to eliminate highsec loot theft from the game yet. Give them a couple more patches and I suspect they will get around to it.

Pro-tip: OP doesn't know how mobile tractors units work or is trolling. Bought the units myself after friend was exclaiming about their virtues, pick them up and log for the day. Next day I sold them after without even using them learning about the ninja exploit of gaining aggro since the MTU itself killed ninja salvage / mission ganking without allowing aggression. Noctis still works fine, and enjoyed watching a wannabe ninja explode to NPC AI(love that change, switching to newest arrival on grid) today, popped my wrecks since ammo is damn cheap, and moved on....stupid ninja thought a marauder might take the bait, lol on them as I saw the remote logi on scan; wish their lose had been greater than a T1 frig.

Hes talking more of the miner use. And good job getting an npc to pop a lil vigil or whatever frig. You are strong and smart. So youd shoot if no logi on scan? Where you mission? My vigil is faaaaaaast yo, no npc rat or dirty player rat can touch it. Also i hope someone ganks your noticis.

Because mobile structures are working as intended, they are purposefully designed to be sources of conflict between players.

CCP, in the relevant devblog, wrote:
Attacking Mobile Structures is only punished with a suspect flag, even in high security space

The flipside of mobile structures being light, inexpensive and available to all is that they also need to be easily attacked. When a pilot shoots any of these four mobile structures, the most severe penalty they will ever receive is a crimewatch suspect flag, making them free targets for all other players for 15 minutes. CONCORD will never retaliate against a player for shooting these structures, and shooting them will never result in a security status loss. This means that Mobile Structures must be defended either by active pilots or by deploying away from the beaten path. The Mobile Depot does benefit from a special version of the reinforcement mechanic that allows a regularly active player to keep their Depot alive; more on that later.

Destroying any mobile structure will always provide a killmail and there is a chance of loot dropping from any mobile structure that has a cargo bay.

MTU's are crunchy and fun to pop.

Alas, I seem to have trained all the miners in nearby systems to pull theirs in when I approach.........Sad

Altho I did like the guy who thought he could drop 22 of them in a single belt. That guy was fun.
