Uph.. Don't I wish it were a meritocracy. A plutocratic corporatocracy, yes but merit? Show me the merit of inheritance - that's an accident of birth with zip-spank to do with merit for rewards received.

As for the supposed holidays: Both "black friday" and "cyber monday" are simply expressions of US consumer marketing and no I don't think CCP needs to do specials for the US. We are a large market but not by that much.
