In the beginning, there was no skill queue. I remember setting my alarm for 3:30 am just to get up and make sure i enabled a new skill training, so as to not waste the training time.

Years passed ........

CCP gave us the 24 hour skill queue. No longer would you have to set your alarm for weird hours to coincide with skills finishing, players rejoyced. (Except the bitter vets who insisted new players had it too easy and should have to do it the original way, sleep deprevation was a good thing don't ya know)

Years passed ......

CCP give us a near unlimited queue. We are given the ability to plan out a goal and queue the necessary skills needed to achieve this goal regardless of the time involved in the training.

I for one say Thank you CCP :)

EDIT: Fixed spelling, thanks. Eating and typing don't mix.

Love the new skillqueue system! Now I can update anytime it gets close to the end!

I saw the days of only training 1 skill at a time. When the 24H skillqueue came around, I was so happy! And now CCP removes yet another frustrating limit! No more timing when one long skill finishes for you to login in to start a new skill! Nowyou just insert a new one when the old gets enar, or just park a bunch of skills in it in case of holidays.

Especially useful for those long periods with no guaranteed access - whether holiday, work or deployment - nice one CCP

(though it's advertised as 'Inifinite' on the login screen etc ... but (i'm told) it's not ... its either 50 skills or 6mths (whichever smaller) and, quite clearly, that is not infinite. Would appreciate misleading advertsiing being removed so it does not mislead a customer base. :) )

Some players will come back or register an extra new account. It's so good and convenient to EVE.
It's not that late to save EVE from the decline.

As soon as I saw the addition of unlimited skill queues in the patch note I knew it was a total lie before I clicked the detail.
How could unlimited queues need the addition?

Not 6 months. I have skill queue set for next year and half. I recall someone mentioning 10 years.

I'm especially looking forward to their plans to eventually allow imported skill queues and integration with the ship ID system, along with the overhaul of ship mastery. A literally unlimited skill queue doesn't seem reasonable imo, but we're effectively there, and long past the days of logging on to wait for that "skill training completed."

Indeed the hardest thing about times before skill queue was training those lvl 1 skills that only took 15minutes or so.

When the queue came I slapped in at least 20 different skills that I couldn't train before and I was ecstatic.
Then they announced that we could have any attributes that we liked and I was even more ecstatic and now I guess I'm permanently high.

The limit is 50 skill entries (= 50 skill levels) or 10 years, whichever limit you hit first.
So while technically not infinite, game wise it virtually is.

maybe i meant greater, but that just sounded wrong ...lol

but yes ... you can 'either' go up to 50 skills, at any time period , but no more than 50 skills.

(conversely I'm also assuming here you can only add skills over 50 skills as long as the time period is under 6months ...

so, yeah, ... i got confused tryign to say that in one catch all statement, and gave up on the logic and pressed 'post' lol.

NB yes, Ive got skill queues now until well passed two years... lol ...

ah, should have read down before I posted reply. :)

Thanks for the clarity. Much appreciated. :)

That said ... from an advertising point of view, Inifinite means infinite, so strictly speaking the 'advertising' should be adjusted, as I'm sure there's a bunch of legal wranglers out there who'll actually give a damn and persue it. ;-) (Me, not being one of them ... though I work in the industry that has to be careful about that kind of stuff).

Back in my day I had to walk uphill in a snow storm all the way to my PC at 2 AM to set a skill training.

Not today spaghetti.
