Out of Pod Experience

Looking for a different setting, i've been looking at some of the pirate mmos out there, none impress me though.

Curious if this might have crossed anyone's mind,
what if CCP took the eve engine, modified it so that it was a high seas style game, where nearly everything is the same as eve (several small frigates take out a large battle ship) and the industrial/market system. Perhaps even modern to support the idea of carriers and mega-ships (titans). Resources might be a tad different as not all of the resources to build ships are found in the sea, perhaps a "PI" type deal with the land would replace mining, and maybe oil drilling can be used to make fuel/etc.

Lawless seas, and unclaimed seas could be the low/null and maybe throw in WH space as the bermuda triangle. This just makes too much f*cking sense not to do!
