There's something not right about Exhumers

Exhumers, the classic mining ships of EvE, were given a wonderful buff and re-balancing. And in particular the Skiff can be heavily tanked.

But, S.O.E. and ORE have always been lumped together with the Gallante, and the Gallante have always been armor tankers!!
I find this a bit disturbing that exhumers have so few low slots.

Since CCP is working diligently on re-balancing ships in Eve, why not shake up the Mining community in a new positive way with a buff and nerf that gives Exhumers the ability to effectively Armor Tank with more Low slots, Power Grid and Capacitor.

The YouTube Video that shows a Hulk fighting combat ships and winning has been seen by everyone, just about, in the Mining community. And this beloved display of David and Goliath is center to the struggle that many Mining Toons face everyday in EvE.

I propose that Exhumer/ Mining Barge Pilots be given the leg up that they deserve. An Asteroid crunching Ass kicking machine.

Armor Tank, PG, CAP that an Amarrian would be proud of. And why not a few extra High slots too for those Nuets.

Do that and they would fit a zillion mining laser upgrades and probably cpu rigs.

Though in reality if a mining ship can break something as solid as an asteroid apart, imagine what it could do to a tin can of a starship?

Would be hilarious if you could fight by mining parts of the attacking ship lol.

Captain - Open fire commander!!!

XO - Weapons systems are non-responsive sir, they appear to be missing.

Captain - Where the hell are they!?!

XO - Sensors indicate they are located in the cargo bay of that ship we were attacking sir, along with the TV antenna and the toilets from deck 6.

Captain - my god, those were the only toilets on the ship...

XO - yes sir, I believe we're "screwed".

While Gallente tend towards armour it's not true to say they have always been. Gallente ships for example were the first successful passive shield tanks, long before the Drake popularised the style.
Gallente Industrial vessels (and the Exhumers are industrial) have traditionally been shield or EWar tanked - of the Iteron marks IIRC only the MkV had the potential for a solid armour tank.

That would totally not mean more MLU + co-processor/CPU rigs. Nah totally not.

Or DDAs I guess...

You made a lack-of-toilet joke and went with "we're screwed" instead of "we're in deep sheeit". Shame on you, shame on your family!

But imagine if a exhumer could switch the target of the mininglaser to the ganker. Maybe less damage and traction then an amarr one. But worth fighting with. So he had to stop mining, but would be able to fight back.

let them trade survivability for yield, hopefully set up like that it has EHP such that a cata can gank it in 1.0

Now THAT would be awesome. And the mining laser attack would be too.

Seriously if you're "caught afk" you deserve to die, and a ridiculous death is even more appropriate.

It doesn't need to be heavy damages, just enough to finally get a kill (like "shield and armor are ignored, 1% damage per second to the hull with 1000 m range", or something like that). It wouldn't change the game economy, the gameplay, nothing : it would just induce a few legendary situations and bursts of laugh. And it would make sense in terms of physics/lore/whatever you call it. So why not ?
