I am not applauding CCP for fancy new ships and tweaked gameplay mechanisms (this is its job) but my expectations are fulfilled (as a customer) by details like that; quick response and excellent communication. This is my "new CCP". Well done guys.

When remapping, the system will first see if you can remap normally (on the annual timer). If you can, it will set your remapping timer and permit you to remap. That timer will then begin ticking down, and, one year later, you will be able to remap normally again.

If your timer is ticking, then the system requires you to use a bonus remap in order to remap your attributes. If you do not have any, you have to wait.

If you elect to use a bonus remap, your timer will not be affected.

Let's say that you have no bonus remaps at all - you've used up your newbie bonus remaps and haven't received any since. If you remapped normally on the 1st of December, 2011, you will then have to wait until the 1st of December, 2012 in order to remap again normally.

If you take the neural remapping Christmas gift, then you can use that bonus remap to remap at any time between when you receive the gift and the 1st of December, 2012. If you do so, then you will still be able to remap your attributes normally on the 1st of December, 2012. If you decide to wait until past the 1st of December, 2012 - let's say to the 2nd of December, 2012, then you will remap normally and not use your bonus remap.

I choose my gift in the time the remap was removed. So i dont chose the remap. I dont even know that a remap was avarible before.

Atm I cant change the gift. I Hope the selection will be resetted, so its not so unfair if you pick your gift in the wrong time Sad

One case I'm not sure is covered by explanations so far.

Say I have a bonus remap available, and my timer runs out tomorrow. After the time runs out, I have two remaps available yes? One timer based (using it will restart the timer), and one bonus. Presumably the first used in that instance will be the timer based one, leaving the bonus one untouched when used, but restarting the timer.

Perhaps clearer: The timer running out when you have a bonus remap available leads to you having two remaps available yes?

Yes, you will use the timer-based remap first. The bonus remap will still be available for you to use anytime after you use the timer-based remap.

That's correct.

Let's take your example - your timer runs out tomorrow and you have 1 bonus remap available. Under the new system, you will be able to do the following:

Remap right now - This will use up your bonus remap, but will not change your timer. Tomorrow, your timer will still expire and you will be able to remap again. If you remap again tomorrow, then your timer will be set and you will have to wait another year.

Remap tomorrow or later - This will set your remap timer, but will not use your bonus remap. You can then use your bonus remap as described in the first case, or continue saving it. Regardless of what you do, your remap timer will expire a year later. Smile

CCP Pleognost I have a few questions:

1. Will the timer on a "normal" remap(1 year) continue to go if you reach your 1 year time and get a remap? For instance if my EVEMon plan has me skilling up for 2 years before I remap, will after that time I have 2 remaps or just 1?

2. This character has 1 remap available which was given from CCP because of something that went wrong (extended downtime maybe?). If I choose the free remap as my gift, I should have 2 bonus remaps on this character, will my 1 year timer start ticking?

3. Similar to number 2, in the past how do I know which remap got used? I remapped this character ~ a year ago but I'm not sure if I used my normal yearly remap or my bonus remap from CCP. Does this mean that once the new code goes into effect I have to wait for a year after using all my remaps? Since previously there wasn't a distinction between normal and bonus remaps, how will you classify existing remaps on peoples accounts?

Thanks for answering a lot of the questions I had in the previous posts.
