Why do so many people have to pick on the Goons?

Shocked
I've noticed that they have become such a huge target of opportunity with the Mordus Angels, Marmite Collective, Pandemic Legion, NA, and others all wanting to either harass them or blow their things up.

I was told by a certain someone that the propaganda out there about them is false. They are not out to get others and cause grief and frankly just want to play the game in peace (for the most part, and they aren't even really that good at it). He/she made it out to seem like they are the victims in these situations and that the Goons have actually changed from what they used to be in the past. But even today you see people invading their space, attacking their ships and things, and they just have this huge target on their heads. Some might say this is content creation and exactly what EVE wants, but from what I understand they are the victims.

Are the Goons just very misunderstood in this game? I personally see them as a group of people just wanting to have fun with cool creative ideas!

This thread will go far.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

The Goon Swarm plays the role of the "bad" guy in EvE online. Every loves to hate the "bad" guy. All the groups that play this role get treated the same way.

The common reply from Goons when accused of trying to ruin Eve is "The Goons do not want to ruin THE game, the Goons want to ruin YOUR game". That's a statement that, while clever, leaves little room for interpretation. Basically a large group of nerds from the something awful forums has declared war on every other nerd playing Eve who is not in their group. They've even assigned a derogatory name to their "everyone not us" enemy (pubbies) and systematically embark on campaigns designed NOT to enrich themselves but instead to ruin other players' gaming experience. Which other players? ALL other players. And since I am not a "something awful" forum denizen, that means me.

So, Goons want to ruin my game. Explain why I should NOT desire to crush them at every opportunity.

The time it took you to write this post, you could have used it to kill 14 Goons.

Strange, goons are not ruining my game. Unless they are the reason I feel no need to log in. Are they?
