So, I made a nice big post, with lots of details, then I was introducted to CCP's web programmers who though it is great to treat silly <> characters as HTML tags and simply 'eat' the whole message. Geniuses.

So, if you get that error from subject line, during patching process, do this:

- start the patch installer by starting EVE client and letting it download the installer (don't press continue/next/whaever yet)
- copy python27.dll from existing EVE folder into temporary folder where installer was unpacked
- continue the patching process

There is no way I'm gonna type that big thing again, hopefully you'll understand what you need to do (assuming you are affected by this error).

CCP, you really have some dumb programmers.

Other solution: manually download the whole patch http://content.eveonline.com/326279/evepremiumpatch323364-326279_m.exe (60-ish megabytes) and install it as usual. Worked for me!
