Launcher, downtime and patchs

Hi,

I wonder why the launcher doesn't perform the update when it's launched and there is one available (At the end of downtime most of the time).

It could allow us to leave the launcher running on patch day and come back at night to the game ready to play. Think for player with crap internet !
Plus it would avoid the play eve - incompatible build - quit eve - quit launcher - start launcher - log in - patch - play eve routine each time :D

Yes I was wondering the same thing. Other game launchers ask for restarts when there is an update, and

SHOCKER

some launchers even before the update in the background ! WTF you say?

At the very least CCP, please inform us in some way to restart the launcher at downtime.

I use to have windows run a scheduled task and it would solve that problem. I just set it to when the servers were suppose to come up to open the launcher, and it would pop up while I was at work and be ready by the time I got home.

Add these actions:


\\Windows\System32\taskkill.exe /IM launcher.exe /F


\\CCP\EVE\launcher\launcher.exe /forcelauncher


I set the time to run every day, 1 min after DT.
