SKILLS INJECTION

HOW IT IS NOW :

You are unable to inject skill unless the prereq skill is completed.

Example : medium artillery specialization skill cannot be injected because you have not finished medium artillery 5

HOW IT COULD BE (CONCEPT)

You may inject all skills, but if you have not fulfilled the prereq skill, then you would not be able to skill it.

Example : you are able to inject Medium artillery specialization , but you have not finished Medium artillery 5, You can not skill specialization to level 1 but the skill is injected.

Specially with the new NO LIMIT skill que.

With the ability to inject the skills would be nice.

Don't see any good reason why not. You'll be paying the same amount of ISK, it's just a matter of when, and this could at least be helpful for WH dwellers who don't get to see the light of day all too often.

This wouldn't work do to the 'If you could fly it before, you can fly it now' system, which allows skills to be trained without their pre-requisites being fulfilled.

This would interfere with that grandfathered in concept, that a lot of pilots, from Command ship pilots, Capital pilots, Orca pilots, etc, would no longer be able to further skill in their ships that they can now.

This would directly interfere with currently working mechanics, without adding any benefit, other than allowing you to plug skills in early.

This is the concept about to "PLUG SKILL EARLY" , the whole 'If you could fly it before, you can fly it now' system is I believe written in another concept. If not then some "DEV" can explain.

The 'if you could fly it then' system works around you being able to use skills that you do not meet the pre-reqs for, so long as you have the skill injected prior to it having the new pre-reqs, so either that would no longer functional, or they'd have to create some weird confusing system.

So you want to tell me that , if i can fly a sleipnir because I could fly it before ... and now i will inject and skill some "prereq" skill for sleipnir after the changes , I wouldn't fly it anymore , no , you are wrong.

Oh dear. This is going to be one of those topics.

Please learn to search before posting. At the very least look at the first page or two of the F&I forum.

lol this is spooky I was just about to post the same request!

So yes, if we wnt to train a skill that requires a different prereq skill, as long as that prereq skill is in the skill queue before hand then we should be able to queue it up.

PLEASE

All my views are my own - never be afraid to post with your main, unless you're going to post some dumb shit

Here we go again.

Once more, the system checks if you have the necessary prereqs for a skill when you inject the skill, not when you begin training it. This is what allows for you to keep training skills that CCP has changed prereqs for, since the system recognizes any skill you have injected as trainable. There is no way, using the current system, to inject skills you don't already have the prereqs for without breaking the skill training system.

The last thread was locked because of redundancy; because you've kindly opened this again, I get to +1 again for an idea that genuinely needs some attention. Big smile

And again, though the specifics might need to be carefully adjusted, this only makes sense because of the upcoming skill queue changes.

That is a VERY good point, unless the devs can easily work around that.

This is what I'm trying to explain to them heh. You worded it much better though, thankyou

To be honest , devs should have a look on this , I know you are right , but why we will have unlimited queue if you can't set the queue right and you need to log in just after the skill was completed to be able inject another one.

All that would need to be done is change the pre req check from when you attempt to inject the skill, to when you attempt to train the skill to level 1.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.
