Hey everyone, watch out for this sad fellow named Dray Cil. I met him in recruitment channel after coming back to EVE from a long break, where I was asking for a corp and he said that if I could answer a few questions I could join his. He invited me to a voice chat channel with alot of people. So we started talking about random stuff, it was pretty good I didn't seem to think of them as bad people.

Later however we started talking about wealth and I said I had 59m. They laughed, and said Dray would double it for me as he had done it "countless of times before to poor people". I am usually very cautious about not getting scammed, and I was it this time again. I tried to switch topic but they kept insisting on how he could make me alot richer in a couple of seconds.

Them seeming as nice guys, Dray seeming as a very rich & friendly person who would let me enter his corp soon (He agreed to letting me in, only had to write an application yet) AND them all being mature men, I trusted them.. Sad Once he had my money he insulted me, let me know I would not join his corp, kept my money and kicked me off voice chat..

I PM'd him why the **** he would do this, and he responded with a 180m bounty... I have no money left, and have a ridiculous bounty on my head, he literally ruined me EVE career..

Please guys, do NOT trust Dray Cil or ANY of his seemingly friends. They are backstabbing mature men who apparently take pleasure in scamming poor people.

That was alll.

180 isn't really that high for bounties, dude. There are guys out there with Billions, capital b.

Now, if you got scammed, just cry about it in one of the SJW chat channels, odds are you will get people throwing sympathy money at you.

I don't know, sounds like Dray Cil is a pretty cool guy since he more than tripled your money!

If it looks too good to be true, it's invariably a scam.
If it looks legit, double check, you've probably missed the scam.

He has made you richer, instead of isk he gave you a lesson in how not to get scammed again.

How so? 60 mio is hardly anything - play for a few months and you will be laughing about that amount of isk.
Bountys don't do anything. People won't kill you because of your bounty, due to how the bounty mechanic works. (They only get a fraction of what your ship costs as bounty payment)

If losing 59m isk and getting a **** poor meaningless bounty put on you is enough to ruin your EvE game, then you fail at EvE.

I don't get it. You said he was sad, but the only sadness seems to be yours.

To be fair, this is light, even for c&p (what's with that?! No one war decked the op yet!)

You can trust people on eve just never with isk, or your stuff.

if you're looking for a good Corp, ask in the New citizens q&a. The regulars in there will link you an excellent guide for finding one

Bountys are irrelevant outside of bragging rights and sagging someone for having a small one.
In fact , they are like that hair that grows in funny places, after a certain age it's odd for it not to be there.

Why would any legitimate person wanting to help you require you to send them money first?

How..How do people not see these blindly obvious tricks..

You should be grateful that you learnt your lesson before you acquired any real wealth.

I seriously cannot with these people who get fooled by scams like that. And really, 59 million is NOTHING. A drop in the bucket of that guy's wallet, I'm sure. He didn't scam you for the money, he scammed you because you were naive enough to fall for his line. Get smarter, earn more money and next time don't give it away to some idiot you met on the recruitment channel, for god's sake. Or quit the game and send me your stuff.
