I dont really have much bar the rattlesnake as like I say I dont fly gank magnets or ships I cant afford to lose so its all frigs assault frigs or bombers. .. that said if the inevitable leaving does happen all the isk etc will be donated to players who are in help channel

Its concerning not one person has told me I am wrong and that my opening post is inaccurate / just bad luck. Clearly gate camps is eve..

What a shame, I defended this game to friends I got to trial but I can see why none of them took it further than 14 days. They all jumped into PVP but I waited.



To make a fist of this game you need an attachment to some one who is ahead of you in game knowledge and contacts. The game itself teaches you very little. Good players teach you a lot.

Along the way I encountered many drag / stop bubbles, and got caught in only one bubble, placed directly on the incoming gate. I had to slow-boat out of that one.

The majority of the systems I passed through were empty.

As a pro player, with the amount of SPs and experience / knowledge you have.. If you lost everything or if you knew then what you know now, would you start your Eve journey?

It just seems like combat, fair or otherwise is over very quickly to justify the time spent training to some form of combative efficiency.

It would be helpful if someone who has gate camped could tell me the appeal, I have sat cloaked, gone afk for 30 mins come back and same names in local at same gate...

This, I pride myself on my ability to teach myself most things, I piddled around in this game for a good year before I started making friends, I learned more in a week after making friends than I was able to figure out myself in a year.

Not only that, but I would have gotten multiple accounts far more quickly than I actually did.

I joined few corps and the majority of what I saw was fleeting up, roaming and killing easy targets. IF the fleet came across similar size fleet, rather than risk losing they would warp off. If chances of winning were good, they would warp off.

I would think maybe wormhole space.. but then for what reason? I dont need the ISK and what if the PVP then turns out to be same as Null? I am clutching at straws to continue playing Eve but this last six weeks or so, I am just demoralized by what I have seen time and again.

Thanks for the suggestions tho guys. Like I keep reading, Eve will end up a wasteland or as one guy put it "too many foxes makes the hen hut empty"

I love noobs, i'm an uber carebear, I suck at pvp (my kill board stats prove that) but I have fun nonetheless. If I as not in a war i'd tell ya to come join me. but meh. Keep looking you will find a corp that you enjoy, once you do the game pretty much changes completely.

It's a game of variables, staying stationary eliminates some of those variables. It also creates some though, good players know how to exploit either situation.

So EVE doesn't satisfy you, too bad... I don't see the reason this calls for a general discussion when this topic is brought up on a regular basis where people like you are unsatisfied.

We spent a week hellcamping a system to deadzone it. You can make anything fun with the right attitude and someone hosting gems like Robo Jox for us to watch together.

I am not sure if you have done much small gang pvp, it kind of sounds like you have mostly done solo. If this is the case have you tried flying with RvB? The fights are generally fair-ish, you get to fly with other people and FCs who know what they are doing, and it's a lot of fun.

I dropped an alt in there and it has been great.

Everyone is camping or just being bored, semi afk playing other games.

The momentum off EVE has begun wearing-off,

a downwards spiral is happening without FAST action.

This interests me. You, and a whole lot of others, seem to shrug and walk away here. Where is the pride? Where is the determination? Kill said target in under 10 seconds combat / target warps in mates = die. Everyone flies round in either stealth or interceptors to avoid said camps.

High sec : Mine = CODE gank you. Don't mine but fly a mission in a Faction ship = someone in a Catalyst ganks you.

Luckily, my two previous attempts taught me not to fly what I cannot afford to lose so no loss enraged me at all.

Of course, the other aspect is grinding missions etc but with six billion across 3 characters, not really much need to mine etc which leaves me with PVP but see above.

Hopefully I will get a legit reply amongst the trolls but who knows, I am more asking why I should keep my three subs active than I am moaning.. surely I am missing the fundamental reason to play this?

I've been playing since June of 2007, I've been in multiple corps (and those corps have been in multiple alliances, everything from faction warfare to major null sec alliances to wormhole groups etc etc). I haven't had half the BS you talk about in this post happen to me. Either you are the unluckiest player in the history of EVE, or the most incompetant.
