Is this really Eve? Am I missing something?

So after 9 months on my THIRD attempt at playing Eve and some 7 mil SPs I decide to stop grinding my three subscriptions and get "out there".

I enrolled one guy into FW, the second and third guy joined a null sec corp.

FW = Agent finder.. check station, enemy militia hold.. next... repeat... finally found a station. Fly to said station for FW agent missions avoiding all the fleet gate camps. Jump to "node" kill NPC = fleet warp in = dead. Join FW clan, "roam" around finding someone who is in exact same boat as above. Run across fleet similar to your own in numbers = leg it / they leg it.

Null sec : Pandemic Legion clowns gate camping every gate out of high / low sec into null. Get past them. More gate camps with 3-4 bubbles. Get past them, spend ages scanning down target. Kill said target in under 10 seconds combat / target warps in mates = die. Everyone flies round in either stealth or interceptors to avoid said camps.

High sec : Mine = CODE gank you. Don't mine but fly a mission in a Faction ship = someone in a Catalyst ganks you.

Luckily, my two previous attempts taught me not to fly what I cannot afford to lose so no loss enraged me at all.

Of course, the other aspect is grinding missions etc but with six billion across 3 characters, not really much need to mine etc which leaves me with PVP but see above.

Hopefully I will get a legit reply amongst the trolls but who knows, I am more asking why I should keep my three subs active than I am moaning.. surely I am missing the fundamental reason to play this?

Many thanks.

To acquire stuffs, so that when you quit, they may be given to me.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Have you tried WH space? Many people claim it is the best space in the game.

So the social aspect evolves but the "PVP" aspects remains - avoid gate camp / make gate camp / roam around in fleet killing one guy in a ship, anymore you leg it (if they havent first).

What a shame, I defended this game to friends I got to trial but I can see why none of them took it further than 14 days. They all jumped into PVP but I waited.

Someone else mentioned this, it sounds good but it would mean running the gauntlet of gate camps and PL love their gate camps. Do these guys actually do anything different?

First of all, I'd recommend committing to one aspect at a time. Put all your toons in null or FW, and allow yourself some time to learn the mechanics and meta of your chosen game area.

Getting ganked by overwhelming numbers is always a lame experience, but it surely isn't what it's all about. Especially in FW, you will find tons of even fights and especially the ever-amazing 1vs1. With some experience, you can dive into 1vsMany, and come out on top.

If you like EVE, give it some time and I'm certain you will get more positive experiences.

There's no need to go anywhere near a gatecamp to enter WH space, wormholes appear randomly throughout the Eve universe, including highsec.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Eve is right up my street in appearance and playability. Its just the majority of the play style that puts me off.

I wanted to see what would happen if I went through a gate in a rookie ship with a guy that was less than a day old. I got killed by 12 PL guys. They dont even select fight, its literally just kill mail +1s

I will look into wormhole space, see if this can keep my interests aroused as few months in I dont want to just quit but literally all I see is gate camp everywhere, both high - low and null. six bil isk that I aint spent on a decent ship as it will just get ganked so I keep grinding over losses of cheap ships trying to get some enjoyment out of PVP but the duals are over so quick, even in assault frig with 90 + resists against all damage types.

Well in that case I would simply suggest some patience. Most of the time I pass through Y-MPWL there are no camps.

Anyway, Eve is what you make it. Fly safe my friend :-)

there are 7k star systems. If you want to avoid code mearly go to one of the outter systems away from jita. Seriously code is nothing if you are smart and don't sit in systems really close to jita.

Eve is about using your witts. Get AWAY from jita and you will be fine.

or better yet, join a player corp and make some friends and have a good time doing stuff.

I joined few corps and the majority of what I saw was fleeting up, roaming and killing easy targets. IF the fleet came across similar size fleet, rather than risk losing they would warp off. If chances of winning were good, they would warp off.

I would think maybe wormhole space.. but then for what reason? I dont need the ISK and what if the PVP then turns out to be same as Null? I am clutching at straws to continue playing Eve but this last six weeks or so, I am just demoralized by what I have seen time and again.

Thanks for the suggestions tho guys. Like I keep reading, Eve will end up a wasteland or as one guy put it "too many foxes makes the hen hut empty"

If you want PvP against non-easy targets PM me, I routinely enjoy flying 2v20+ or 1v20+ whatever doesn't matter.

If it sounds appealing hit me up.

I would say then perhaps either keep searching for corps who are looking for a good fight, or start your own. You be the FC and fly with guys who are looking for the thrill of winning an evenly matched small gang fight.

This sounds more like it, I dont like flying around in 10s of ships and killing that lone ship thats dead before it even locks. I dont understand the mentality of those that do. Getting into a scrap your almost certain to lose, and winning would be where I would get the enjoyment from. Sadly my PVP skills at the moment would not bear this fruit but I will def PM you and see if I can change my mind before my next sub is up for renewal.

I have lost so many ships and I dont mind that in fact I enjoy the experience of seeing their fits / chatting afterwards. My three guys are in a corp to make managing the ISK easier etc. I think I just need to find a corp that thinks same as me, if I kill someone for every 60 losses, I would be happy.

I helped a guy in a gurmur do the SOE mission where you have to out DPS his tank. I could have killed him as he dint have a clue how to fit the gurmur but what would have been the point in that?! Strangely, I then read on here " Whats wrong with Eve " a pilot dueled in a Gurmor and was raging that got conned and killed /lolol

Thanks for offering an argument guys, I wunt mind if I was just sulking over losing a ship or whatever just with feeling like this for over a month I was hoping I was missing a point. I will try find some guys who dont care about kill mails, who are out to take of fleets of ships in their Daredevil lol

Thanks again

Concerning those 6 bill you claim to have - would you mind transferring them to me? Along with all your other stuff. As you longer seem to be in need of it.

Thanks. Smile
