With the developments and revelations in the Military Veteran community, as well as some personal experiences with friends, the rate of Veteran suicides is on the rise and current figures put it at 21 veteran suicides a day. I have recently started an in game community channel called "Best of Us" and I am reaching out to the eve media platforms to get the word out about it. It focuses on presenting a sense of community within the larger eve whole but I hope it can also provide an outlet for Veterans suffering from PTSD or just everyday stress to talk with their battle brothers across the globe and hopefully help stop this tide of veteran suicides at least within the reach of our Eve community. It is in it's fledgling stages now as I do my outreach to the various forms of eve media to spread the word as wide as possible. As the channel develops I hope to be able to have some form of peer councilors of a sort that can Identify certain text markers of a veteran with suicidal ideations and help to outreach and prevent the worst case scenario that could happen. The community of Military Veterans is a strong and proud one and with this idea I hope to empower it to help itself. I am at this time reaching out to major alliance leaders to hopefully have them put out an email or a bulletin letting their military veteran members know about this community/ resource I am looking to build.

Former paratrooper getting my master's degree in social work right now so I can work with vets. Hope this takes off; I'm a big fan of gaming as a form of recreational/occupational therapy!
