do you want mercs or are you just here to whinge about getting ripped off?

if you do want someone to settle something for you

Killboard: http://www.devilswarrior.info/kb/
You can always look up any of our members or corporations on battleclinic to get further details.

Contacts: Lord Razpataz, Sir Tearz and Venree

Prices will be negotiated depending on the contract details, but in most cases only a flat rate fee is applied. If you would like different payment options all can be discussed and we can even work with you on a permanent basis.

Look for us in our public chat, The Gates Of hell

I got scammed by mercs once. Helped me decide to get out there and do my killing myself.

Please point to anything resembling a valid point raised by the OP. A wardec is a perfectly proper response to people posting nonsense on the forum.

That the merc system is a joke. There is nothing compelling the mercs to actually show up and fight.

Also, if you don't know your enemy, and end up creating a merc contract that won't hurt your enemy to the slightest, you'll just end up looking like a fool and it's your own fault.

I too cry bitterly about things that haven't affected me in the slightest.

Whilst we're at it, can I just express my disgust at the proposed changes to nebula brightness in Phoebe? Whilst I understand that only around one in 17000 people are afflicted with Albinism and are therefore highly sensitive to light, it would have been nice if CCP had considered how the proposed changes may affect them and offered some complementary shades.

Just in case this isn't a troll from the OP's forum alt...

Scams and dishonesty are a permitted and core element of gameplay in Eve. It seems clear you think that the mechanic is bad and needs "fixing" since, in what I venture is a fairly uninformed opinion, it's primarily used for scamming. By your logic, perhaps you'd also advocate for the removal of the entire public contract system as well? The prevalence of scams or deceit within a game mechanic is in no way an indication of it's broken nature.

The system as it exists currently is functioning properly, in that it publicly shows who's interceded in wars, and their resulting kills on behalf of their ally. Nothing more, nothing less.

OP, you are decrying everyone who disagrees with your opinion as a troll, yet we are merely expressing our opinion that you have insisted there is a problem where none in fact exists.

Welcome to the strange world inhabited by people like the OP.

I can think of several other people that also inhabit that world; some had very public meltdowns on the forums and quit, some are banned from the forums, others are still posting, about things they know little of, with solutions to problems that only exist in their heads.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

And the one thing they all have in common is that they believe everything bad is the fault of other people, because they are perfect.

Narcissism, in other words.

I hear a lot of opposition from a few, yet they offer no solution. If they are not Mercs, or Scammers what harm could putting pressure on players to honor their contracts with other players do? Is is possible that they are the dis-honest few who foule the game with less than honest game play. They cry because their less than truthful tactics are exposed, discussed, and hope that an end to such behavior is done away with.

They talk about war decking anyone that dare speak out about scammers and less that honest game mechanics. We know the lairs and cheat in the game just by how the try to stifle such discussions.

So you are pretty much admitting that the intent here is to remove scamming from a transactional element of EVE Online.
No.

Do note that change 1 in your OP is already the reality of hiring allies (4 hour delay).

The rest of the complaints are already addressed by proxy of simply checking the killboards and any available public information on the prospective ally, as was pointed out. If you want something more specific than what can be provided as obvious through publicly available information, contact the ally and agree to a contract with support of an arbitrator like Chribba.

Not to mention you are asking for something special when hiring defenders, when we get nothing of the sort when hiring attackers. If I hire Jack Jerkoff to kill you, I have no such guarantee that he will. You do not get a guarantee with Jane Jerkoff just because Jack wardecced you first.

Nothing except their reputation. Groups like Forsaken and Marmite don't get 100 contracts a week for not showing up.

Scams. In my EVE. Oh the shock. The horror. The dismay.

Someone please hold me.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)
