All tho I have not been activated yet, still been trying to connect all day and at least patch. Mostly been getting repair tool errors, patcher' crashes and slow patch download speeds...

When you ran the repair tool did you follow this?

Create a shortcut to repair.exe and add following to the target line: --server=sisi

Worked fine for me.

I attempted to log in, but I saw the update and (due to slow internet) was unable to log in :(

Yes, I did. Didn't work. :-(

I made sure to follow the instructions, but no love. :(
