Question about Invention/Production

From the brief time I've spent reading a few posts on here (I haven't played in over a year) it seems that there are no slot limits for jobs at regular stations any longer? I haven't been in game much to check things out. I was doing Invention before and had my own POS with a lot of labs and such so I could have as many jobs going as possible because stations were always full. Is that not the case anymore? Can I just run jobs at regular stations now, both production and invention? Thanks kindly for any answers.

You can run as many research or manufacturing jobs as you have skills for in stations, bare in mind that the cost for installing jobs has increased dramatically and alters on a system by system basis, generally getting cheaper the furtheraway from hubs... they also introduced a thing called teams. I suggest reading the dev blogs for max info on that though

So no more "slots" you can just run jobs right?

Right. No more stacking specific POS arrays if you have more than one character producing a specific group of items or labs to keep your characters busy researching/inventing/whatever.
On the other hand, jobs now cost some ISK depending on an overly complicated system which factors in the usage of a system (for each activity), what facility you use (NPC stations have an extra 10% tax), the (normalized) sum of the materials required, and some dark magic.
All that is then thrown into a kettle, boiled during a dark, moonless night at a secret location in iceland, spiced with some secret CCP ingredients, and then coded into the UI, just to make everything a little more complicated ;)

Well this helps me out a lot. So I dont need a pos and I no longer have to wait in line at a NPC station to make things. Granted it'll cost more now, but still, good to know. And if I do get a POS I wont need so many laboratories attached! Thank you!

You just need to be aware of the cost index for each system, lower the index, the lower the costs.
