APB has amazing character and car customisation features. You can basically apply any design you like to your car and avatar. This allows for the display of an amazing amount of player creativity.

Personally I think this would be the ideal way to go with ship and clothing customisation in EVE.

Players could even sell their designs/skins on the market. and then other players can purchase them and apply them to their ship.

This system could easily co-exist with the NeX store which could stock either limited edition skins, or the base clothing upon which designs can be applied.

Visual Customization in games is a VERY good idea

I actually came to search for this on the forum, kinda.... I saw in the market when unvinking "Show Only Available" there were tons of clothes shown that are not available yet in No.Ex. and I was wondering if anyone had an idea about it.

Seeing the wide range of skirts (my interrest) I do not think CCP is planning customization on this. They'll just be selling this themselves. I wonder though ... since all these patterns are already in the database and can be previewed, why they have not been put online yet in the No.Ex stores. Or am I missing something here?

Anyway ... I agree it would be fun to have some more freedom on designing your own ship in some way,... but I think we should have limits on this as well. I dont think having bright white or pink ships with yellow dots, is what we would want in EVE. It would kill the overall look of the game, imho. APB is a different kind of game and it works perfectly there (I play that game too)

A personal logo, your corp logo,... and a small variation of colors, would be fine. I used to play several startrek space shooters (not meaning STO) and they allowed you to redesign the look of your ship too, which was a cool thing to see, I recall making a red klingon Bird Of Prey and it was a darn sweet thing to see flying in space.

If the outset is you'd have to buy it yet again with PLEX or AUR, then I doubt it would work. Sure allow some special thing to be bought, .. but atleast allow the players to design their own logo for free, just as you are allowed to do that for your corp and design you character for free too, imho.

A set of colourschemes for ships,.... I think that would be a sweet thing! (I want my Merlin in Pink!)

But that is my opinion. But heck what do I know? I'm only blond :D

Well this is the problem with giving players free reign with customization, expecialy with a graphicly styalized game like Eve.
I would consider a Pink ship to be awful and immersion breaking. (Edit: No offence intended Estheria, I am just trying to make the point that different people have different tastes)

Years ago I played EQ. It became standard practice for main tanks to dye their armor floresent Pink and Lime Green. Made them easier to see and target on raids.... however it looked horrible.

Unfortunatly there is always going to be people who would try to make their Gellente Haulers look like a penis (male reproductive organ) or something, simply to troll other people who have to look at it when flying in space.

Limited colour schemes would be best it really think. And try and keep them in context with that race's 'look'.

Yes, but unfortunately, the rest of the game was horrible. CCP should really stick to fixing existing issues before we get to play with Barbie's First Rifter Playset.

Before posting in Features and Ideas, please remember that Eve is in no way obligated to change based on your stupidity, ineptitude, or well honed sense of personal butthurt.

LOL ... I dont take offence as I was being sarcastic. I already said it would be an horrible idea to see bright white or pink ships with yellow spots. I like the colorschemes in EVE and I think if they do introduce colorschemes for ships that these should represent that too.
More freedom for a logo which you could put on a ship would be different though.
