A pair of tornados can do it. I know, because it has happened to me. Oops Well, not tornados, but a maelstrom + arty apoc.

Assume 50m for the tornado hull, then maybe 30m for fittings = 80 x 2 = 160m. Most of the L4 mission running tengus will be rocking some CN and / or deadspace gear. Find one that is really loaded and you have yourself some easy isk. The trick is to scan the target down, then be waiting in ambush on the other side of a gate that the tengu goes through. As soon as the tengu de-cloaks on the other side, lock and fire before it manages to turn on hardeners.

This is why I don't fly tengus in hi sec anymore...way too easy. Ugh

There is a happy medium for the Tengu.

The fit I posted does have some faction goodies on it; around 250m worth. Assuming 50% drop, that's 125m profit potential. You need to invest a lot more in hardware to gank it than 125m. It has 25k EHP with the hardeners off. 35k on. That and not everyone is willing to dump their security status for little profit potential. Oh and that 125m isn't guaranteed. If the best stuff doesn't drop... yeah. See all those tengus flying around not being ganked? That's the proof that you can fly them just fine without piling on a ton of goodies to tempt the gankers.

Of course, removing the insurance payouts for CONCORD kills makes faction modded Tengus even more realistic.
