Disastrous and Annoying Backspace Chat bug

So I've noticed since the most major patch came in that there is a bug with the chat window, where if I hit the backspace key it halts my ship. The backspace works, of course, but before the patch it had no effect when typing in the chat box. Now, regardless of which window I focus on, be it chat, browser, or corporation windows, it will also work the function of stopping my ship. Yes, I can always change it in the hotkey options, but I'm curious as to why this happened. It's been a big problem for freighters and travelers in sketchy parts of highsec and any lower-sec systems.

Is it a bug or is it a deliberate change to make things more convenient for emergency stopping, like finding out you're about to initiate warp into a trap and you're in a mailing box? In my point of view, it makes things less convenient because typing is the most common method of communication and when we hit the warp button mid-conversation it's more than often going to cause some syntax error that we're going to backspace to correct, then you look up and there's two guys scramming you because you'd been sitting on the gate for too long. I'm sure it's caused as many problems for null-sec capsuleers as it has for us care bears.

Only the backspace key bind behaves this way, i had it set to minimize all windows. I posted it on the first day in the issues thread for Oceanus and nothing changed.

You made it so nothing can be bind to backspace any more.
