Storyline Missions - When and Type

Greetings. I have recently returned to Eve and I am curious about this.

I believe that a storyline comes up every 16 completed missions with the same corporation. However, if you "mix" the missions with various agents, levels, and type .... what kind of mission would you receive as the storyline?

For Example:
Agent A - Distribution Level 3 - complete 7 missions.
Agent B - Distribution Level 4 - complete 1 mission.
Agent C - Security Level 3 - complete 2 missions.
Agent D - Security Level 4 - complete 6 missions.

So, all 16 missions are with the same corporation.

Or am I on the wrong track with this?

After you've done that list, you wouldn't receive any storyline. You'd need to run either 7 more L3 missions to get an L3 storyline or 9 more L4 missions to get an L4 storyline.

The types of missions you run has no bearing on the type of storyline you get. You can run 16 L4 mining missions and get an L4 security storyline. Or run 16 L3 security missions and get an L3 distribution storyline mission.

You get a storyline after completing 16 missions of the same Level and Faction.

Thanks for that input, understand now.

Just one more question if I may. Does the 16 mission counter reset, in otherwards:

Agent A - 15 missions
Agent B - 15 missions

On completeion of the 16th mission for agent A - storyline mission, then a further mission for agent B - do I get another storyline? or does it reset to zero.

Cheers.

Do 16 missions for a faction of a level = storyline. Doesn't matter how/when you do them, who else you work for at the time. Every 16 missions (same faction, same level) = storyline for that level and faction.

Faction does not matter. Only the level. So 16 L4 missions net you a storyline, and so on.

Wrong, as stated before level and faction matters. If you run 15 L4 for caldari and 1 L4 for gallente you still need one L4 for caldari or 15 L4 for gallente to get the storyline.

I have not seen that in my experience, and I have ran missions in all areas of the game.

It's faction and level, not just level. If you're missioning for two different factions at the same time, the missions for a storyline count up separately.

Basically: your experience is wrong, or your eyes need checked.
Separate counters per faction and level, once a counter reaches 16 you get a storyline of the corresponding level for that faction, the other counters are completely separate and will not reset when another counter reaches 16.

The numbers for "Faction A / Level A", "Faction B / Level A", and "Faction A / Level B" do not affect one another in anyway. Each separate hidden counter are simply that...separate and completely independent of one another. The moment you do 16 missions for any of those, regardless as to the others, you get a storyline offered for that faction/level. You could run 15 level 4's for a faction, suddenly stop and run hundreds of level 3's for the same faction (accumulating level 3 storylines at that), and then one day run a level 4 for the same faction and get a level 4 storyline.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Does the counter pause while the Storyline mission is in "Offered" or "Accepted" state?

IE, I run 16 missions, get offered a Storyline mission. Instead of going over directly, I complete 2 more missions. I then go and accept the storyline mission, but complete 2 more missions before completing the storyline mission.

Do I now have 16, 14, or 12 more missions to do before my next storyline offer?

12, I've had multiple storyline offers (which may be a way to force the agent you want to offer storyline missions (as an agent can only offer you one mission at a time).

Its also worth noting the storyline agent will depend on where you ran the last mission.

For example - if you are running missions in an area with high returns but storylines that end up always sending you into losec you could run the very last mission of the 16 needed in a lower paying 0.9 system and get a guaranteed highsec storyline.

Gotcha, thanks!

With the "an agent can only offer you one mission at a time", are you saying that I can do as many as 31 without going to the Storyline agent, and if I do 32 before going to accept, things might go wonky? Or that I can block a crappy storyline agent by never accepting his offer, and get offers from someone else on my 32nd, 48th, and so on?

No....

If you leave the first storyline mission unaccepted and manage to do another 16 within 7 days, you'll get another storyline offer from a different storyline agent. Same for 16 more. However you can't block forever because storyline offers expire after 7 days.

Brilliant! Thanks for the explanation.
