Sadly, that's actually quite realistic. I need to start coding apps ............................

That was entertaining. In other news, I'm fairly certain you can prevent charges to your accounts on iTunes fairly easily.

But then we wouldn't have been able to laugh at the kid going "I think I maxed out your credit card. Is that what happened?" "Yep."

Oh man. I hate it when an app is free, then there are charges hidden within the app and only your kids can find out. This made me reinforce to restrict anyone to use my tablet!

Its so easy to get charged too, due ofthis one click built in. Google/android devs need some sortod secondary pass to confirm on the one click thing.

Don't you have to enter a password before you can buy something? It seems to me the problem lies by the parents again.

No, not at all. Like you saw on the video. All you do is press "ok". So yeah, tis is especially true on android devices, dunno about icrap.

Sorry I left out some information in my post. I own a iPod and every time I want to buy something I have to log in on my Apple-account. That's why I said that it was the parents fault that their creditcard got maxed out.

F2P is the biggest scam right now in the gaming industry. You could easily spend a $100 a month and not even notice it. Well that is until you see your bank statement and it is filled with F2P transactions. Nothing is really ever free there is always some hidden charge usually things integral to the game that you can only get through an ingame MT store.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

No one sneaks into your house and takes your credit card number.

Some games have free portions and advertise themselves as F2P, but they have limits on the free players. Being subject to a limit is not a 'hidden charge' because you want to go past it. The others make you trade money for time. That's not a 'hidden charge' it's just your impatience. You being an impulse buyer does not make them a 'scam' any more than putting sale items at the end of aisles at your grocery store. If it costs too much to continue in a way you find fun, don't be such a ******* addict and STOP playing and paying. It's that simple.

The only 'scam' in gaming is DLC released along with a game's launch.

You get sold a $50-$60 game as a complete game, but the development process that brought you the game also created the DLC at the same time. The lines they draw are irrelevant. They developed the game, then sell it as more than one part. It's just a super expensive game you have the option to not buy all of. A little bit is fine, like collectors edition perks and things, but something like Dragon Age: Origins is the definition of a scam. Being sold a game in parts for more and more money.

BioWare announced on October 8, 2009, that two pieces of downloadable content (DLC) will be available on the game's launch: The Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep. By November 12, 2009, BioWare announced that sales of downloadable content had generated over one million dollars of sales revenue.

In fairness to DA:O, Stone prisoner was a collector's edition preorder bonus, released along with the game for those who didn't preorder the CE. and the only real DLC bioware put out that was actually worth the price. The rest of the DLC was an obvious money grab. Awakening as well was more suited for a $20 DLC release than a $40 expansion pack.

No. It's suited to be part of the game's cost. If you would pay $50+$20 for a $50 game, you're a sucker. That it doesn't fit into the mold of 'expansion' doesn't matter. They developed a game, then sold you most of it, then sold you the rest for more money. And you went along with it.

Sucker.

(Again, only speaking to DLC at release. I like the idea of more content developed after release and sold for small amounts instead of waiting for expansions.)

Actually I paid $60 for the superior PC version of a $50 game that was otherwise $60 on Consoles. Mainly I wanted the cool box and the cloth map. Two free DLC downloads were just a huge bonus.

Actually I don't play F2P. If the developers had to go that route to make money then to me the game is an obvious piece of **** not worth my time. Of all the titles released every year I might buy a couple as soon as they hit shelves. Others I wait.

Mass Effect 2 is a good example, most of the purchasable DLC was a waste, didn't bother with it. The actual game content that was purchasable was ok, some of it was kinda meh....another Bioware production...glad I got it on sale on Steam, ended up paying just over full price after DLC content in the end.

I just read Aion online is going free to play in Europe due to low activity. It will still cost money in America for now.

I've never played Aion or most games for that matter, its just an interesting trend.
