Hisec industry POS defense, post-Crius

Hello, S&I.

I'm returning from a rather long break and am setting up an industry POS in hisec. I've done this plenty before, and I know there are some great threads on the topic of starbase defenses - with this one being the granddaddy of them all and this one being a bit more recent - but that was a while ago, and I wanted to ask about how things have changed in Kronos + Crius.

In particular, I was wondering:

  • On the attacking side, does the addition of bastion marauders change anything?
  • Why do most recent threads seem to ignore small autos/arties and only mention mediums? I thought smalls were needed to effectively counter e.g. sigtanked frigates.
  • About how many smalls vs. mediums and autos vs. arties should I have, anyway?
  • It seems like warp scramblers, neuts, and sensors dampeners don't get a lot of love. Why? Are there specific attacker strategies/fits that I should anchor them for anyway to counter?
  • Now that you can access ammo storage from anywhere in the shield, you can anchor and online replacement turrets mid-combat, along with ECM. What should I expect to replace the most of - what will an intelligent attacking fleet try to kill first?
  • Yes, I know that "if enough people show up, you're losing your tower," but nobody ever gives numbers. Realistically, how large a fleet do you need to take down an online, defended large tower in hisec? 20? 50? 200?
  • Any other key advice on defending a POS, or ways it's changed recently?

Thanks. Been curious about these for a while, and a new setup is the perfect excuse to ask.

You no longer need standings to set a POS. Thus, its easy to set one up. If you get a war, just take your POS down, wait it out, and re-set it.

1. Not really. People rarely bother to risk that much ISK to destroy a hisec POS.
2. Frigates can't do anything but consume ammo. Bombers have a hard time evading small arty.
3. Some of each is a good idea.
4. Depends. I love them, but then I will jump into a ship to defend, and like the support; I don't need to fit EWAR.
5. Warp disruption, followed by ECM.
6. About 10 or so coordinated gunners will make mincemeat of a sub-capital fleet.
7. Don't p**s people off, and don't do stuff that makes you a target (offline tower, haul AFK, mine AFK, etc.).

Read posts by me with POS related keywords. I've answered all of this, and more, several times before.

Thanks, in particular for the link to the U-W0T fight. I remember reading about that back when it happened but couldn't find any links.
