CCP changed ice mining in the least provocative way possible. As a result its pretty much the same and still terrible. Mining needs a total overhaul. Mining ice or any other ore should require players to move from system to system searching for it, just as explorers search for exploration sites. Mining should be an active and competitive activity in hisec, just as exploration and incursions are.

Wow. Sounds rough, join my corp before you biomass, though. It has the added benefit that you will already have mining permits purchased on your behalf for all your toons before biomassing so you can leave with a clean conscience.
