Why I hardly play EVE anymore.

I started playing EVE when it was a year old. I eventually purchased 3 accounts. I am an ice miner...period. All my accounts are dedicated to ice mining. I know it sounds boring but I like to read and mine ICE. I also like to collect ships all types of ships. Ice pays for the ships and my accounts. I used to be able log on anytime and mine ICE. Now Im lucky I can find an ice field. When I do find an ICE field thier are so many ships mining that Im lucky if I can fill one mining ship let alone an Orca before the ice is gone. I dont have to time to wait arround for hours for another ice field to appear. Now all my accounts are closed. I still have billions in my accounts so I could play for years for free. Now I only open an account to see what kind of new ships I can buy and take them for a spin.

I dont think would be fair to give away my stuff. How would you players learn the meaning of earning your own stuff!!

i made isk afk mining ice, this changed, i can't mine ice now
PS: you are reason they changed it "reading while mining" and you go on with this was paying for everything including your accounts...

So... there are other things out there to do.. if none of those make you enjoy eve... sadly we shall have to wave you goodbye.

hate to see people go, but adapt my friend.. adapt.
(there are rocks to mine too)

Can't tell if troll post or over-privileged whiner.

CCP sat still on too many things for too long and it has hurt the game. I don't think their ice change was the right one because I'm seeing ice harvester fleets run by single players that suddenly blot out the sun when a belt spawns......but if they form a monopoly by chasing you away then good on them for making the most of it I suppose......you've been playing for almost a decade now you must have had the means to do similarly.

At least ice mining means having to actually play some EvE now.

And just a small quick question, out of those 3 accounts, how many of those characters have an active mining permit? Statistics have shown a correlation between mining permit ownership and fun. Apparently, those who have them tend to have more. If the whole "permit' thing is a turn off, we can just call it a 'UaE Highsec Ice Field Fun Pass' instead. Ill be happy to process your transaction for you either way.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

They changed the way ICE is mined.
Botters, ISBoxer fleets, and organized people get the ice before you do.
You're sad about this.

No one cares. Find something else to do in Eve. I understand there are still rocks that can be mined. Maybe you could try that.

Or station trading - i tend to read a lot while I'm watching my market orders.

The point is, Eve is sort of like a buffet.
You come in, you pay your money, and you get a plate.
No one tells you what to put on your plate. No one tells you how much you can eat or when to stop stuffing your face.

If you leave unsatified it's your own damned fault.

Lets see... how can we solve this...

I'm an 11 year vet, and miner by trade. I have maxed mining skills, I would rather mine then do anything else. Your first problem is just ice mining. You can find roids and mine them for roughly the same money if you look. You can also join an alliance and go mine ice in null sec for more profit, or be a bit riskier and find a quite ls system and mine ice. or look around for a quite ice system in hs, I am sure you can find one with less people mining.

its not that bloody hard.

It sounds to me like you hardly played Eve at all if all you did was mine ice and read. How is it different now? You can still sit AFK and read.

I'll blow your stuff up for you. You obviously weren't using it for it's intended purpose.

Unsuccessful At Everything mentioned you could purchase mining permits. I highly recommend you take him up on his offer. Studies have shown that permit holders have an improved experience in Eve.

Beyond that, this is Eve. Adapt or die. If you die, you are merely another example to the others as to why they must adapt. If you do adapt, then welcome to the real Eve. Sitting AFK mining Ice isn't playing Eve. You might as well put minesweeper on in the background instead.

God forbid someone be at their computer and multitask. CCP is having problems as it is after years of their "HTFU" campaign and stating they can lose players and no they have reached a point to asking players how do they keep older players in and how do they keep new players.

This guy is complaining that his ice runs out now and there is competition from other players in a multiplayer game. No one mentioned HTFU until you came along, but you're right... it is good advice for the OP.
