Greetings.

I did farm high sec(0,5 0,6) for some hours, 4 maybe? And i got 17m woth of loot. So i decided to check out low sec(0,4 0,3) and for about 3 hours of exploring i got 1,5m worth of loot and also the competition was much more in low sec... Maybe i missed something, i dont know, maybe its just bad luck, so guys can you tell me if i did something wrong?

- exploration income can vary a lot. you would have to do it for weeks at least to have a somewhat reliable data set
- don't fly where everybody else flies. look for backwater systems with little to no residents.
- if you are still not satisfied with the income, try some quiet corner in 0.0

^ that, and you were prolly unlucky. Try taking an average of lets say a week doing both, then come back and tell us of your adventures.

As Daniel Plain said, look for backwater systems with few or no pilots in them. Use the 'jumps in the last hour' filter on your star map to find them.

Edit: Also, be sure to equip a cargo scanner and check to see if the loot is worth the hack attempt. Evepraisal is great for doing this quickly. In addition, Relic sites are far better than Data sites (until Phoebe at least) so you may be better off skipping everything but Ghost sites and Relic sites.

Funny fact: the population of those systems was 0-4.

Cargo scanner sounds good, thanks this will save me a lot of time and frustration.

There's a non-insignificant chance that the sites you found had been checked by someone else in the same manner. Be kind, and if you find a can that isn't worth your effort to hack, pop it. That way, the site will respawn significantly sooner than if it has to wait to despawn due to a timed EOL.

Talk is cheap, but Void S and Quake L are cheaper.

OP you just had really, really bad luck. Thats a horrible figure even for lowsec standards. But it belongs to the profession. There is always a chance the next site is going to yield some goodies.

Depends on who has been going through the same area of space. I don't normally do the exploring thing, but I spent three days (maybe 10 hours of gameplay) exploring in null and came out with 150 million worth of loot. Note that I also lost an additional 50 million isk or so that I was unable to get out of null due to being shot down. The loss of a Probe frigate and pod was inconsequential considering how much I earned. But I spent a couple days in another region of null and everything I scanned down was already picked over and I made virtually nothing, maybe 20 million, and another lost frigate. So I suppose there are good and bad days.
