i saw the kicstarter thing on my FB feed this morning, i guess it started 2 days ago. they want 250k in a month... no idea how they will make a game with that but meh. Reading up on it, its pretty much identical to eve. just some changes.

It looks as though it could be interesting. Seems like he's trying to get the funds for a tech demo.

Does not share EVE's skill system, which is a significant diversion. But we will see how it develops.

The Tiger Claw with mounted Tachyon Beam lasers with Radio tracking and shooting Klingon Birds of Prey.. then switching to RHML and eventually being saved by logistics Tengus and a fleet of Star Destroyers.

Spaceships with wings employing cloaking technology and different weapon types. This was never a thing in science fiction until EVE. This is clearly a ripoff of EVE.

I had to laugh just the slightest bit when Piranha Bytes announced that they're going to make a sandbox spaceship mmo without NPC's and player driven economy.

They want to get the money via crowd funding, but not via kick starter but their own plattform... Straight

Luckily the produced atrocities like risen and gothic, so I don't even need to check out their other products (tho I still want my money back for those two).

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

It appears he is trying to be connected somehow to Asimov's Foundation series. If it was one of the authors that has actually written well-received work in the Foundation universe, that might be interesting - but I have never heard of this 'novelist' and a five second Google search did not show much. How silly. o.o

Hey people, quick update... Seldon Crisis kickstarter was averted due to (roll the drums)... An Intellectual Property Dispute!! Bwoo-hoo, who could have figured? Roll

As a consequence, they've launched a indiegogo campaign and have changed the game lore (may be forced to change the name too) to no longer make any reference to the Asimov estate's IP.

That's some solid foundation to build a game on, heh.
