So I love this game, but I'm starting to feel like I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. I've been playing for about 100 hours, I've got pretty good money coming in, but I've just been doing the mission grind in high sec space. Problem is that mission grinding is getting boring, it doesn't really have that much of a point once you have a disposable bankroll, and the level 3/4's are not much of a challenge with my battlecruiser.

I decided, well factional warfare looks like fun. I built a PVP Hurricane only to have it blown up in 8 seconds flat by a gatecamp. Whatever, not a big deal, but it just seems like everyone else knows how to play this game so well and its so hard to move to the next step.

I'm not complaining, but just looking for advice on how to move into things like PVP and branch out to other parts of the game that involve other players. I'm just getting frustrated with building expensive ships and getting completely spanked within a blink of an eye. At least if I could get a few kills and then get spanked I'd feel like I was making progress lol.

Help!

GO NORTH.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Stay in factional warfare, specialize on frigates and invest a battleship worth of ISK into a swarm of t1 frigates. Get to know people and blow up while having fun. Enjoy your first killmails on the shooting side.

I think that might be my next plan. I figure if I buy 30 Rifters I'm bound to kill SOMETHING before they all get blown up in a 2 hour period lol

first step is join a factional warfare pvp corp.

plenty advertise recruitment here on the forums in the recruitment section.

You'll learn more by joining a helpful FW/PvP corp than just throwing ships into destruction.

Roll around with them for a while and ask tons of questions. If you want to go back to soloing that's fine but at least you'll kinda know whats going on at that point.

imho

Other than joining a FW corp that is helpful towards new players I'd recommend checking out RvB. A perpetual war in highsec that has a focus on helping new players learn pvp could be a good way for you to pick up the mechanics before heading out on your own or into FW again.

Step 1: Join General Tso's.
Step 2: PvP with us.
Step 3: Profit.

Don't undock what you can't afford to lose. Go cheaper until these "expensive" ships matter less.

Your rifter plan sounds good btw

What Yarda said.

Find a good pvp focussed Corp that is active in your timezone and go have fun. You'll learn a lot from experienced people around you and the social side of the game adds more depth to your time online (imho).

No, that's literally every textadventure.

No idea what runescape is.

Oh god, no... Not this dual tank abomination :)
Probably the only equally annoying ship in Eve is falcon.

All good above. I used to recommend RvB but too many high SP characters playing station games these days. Go lowsec, join a FW or pirate corp, focus on frigates and dessies. Get FRAPS to more easily learn from your mistakes. Or read my thread. LOTS of mistakes in that :)

Wormholes. Find a good wormhole corp., join 'em, and start playing Eve hard mode.

Imho a lot of players don't (or they somehow get the real fun out of grinding missions or mining all day just to watch their wallet go up).

The first and most important step in getting most out of eve is to find yourself a good corp (probably not a high sec corp) and join in on their activities.
