Jump clone names

If you name a jump clone, and jump to it, the name is forgotten. I reported it as a bug, but the ticket response was "This is by current design. Jump clones much be named after each time they are installed. "

Can anyone tell me what the point is of having to rename your clones after each jump?

I would assume the reason is technical limitation, because that doesn't make much sense and sounds annoying.

Sounds pretty ****** up. What's the use case behind that logic?

Can't really see any but some (silly) limitation in CCP's code.

Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene V - Moon 4 - Duvolle Labs Factory. Hybrid charges, Projectile ammo, Missiles, Drones, Ships, Need'em? We have'em, at affordable prices. Pop in at our Ammo Shop in sunny Alentene.

Guess its just easier to never name any of them and just look at the implants like we have done for years...
I never found it a problem keeping track and or looking at each one till i found the one i needed. its like 15 secs of work every 19-24h/hardly ever if you don't jump much.

I'm going to guess that this is probably because every time we jump clone, the coding creates a new jump clone with all the same implants in the station you are currently in, and from there it destroys the jump clone your jumping to, and recreates it as your current clone, in the station you are supposed to be in. Although this is just pure speculation, and if this is how it works, then they would just need to add a hidden name variable that transfers over to the jump clone data.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.
