Did not see a thread, but this is coming in i think it was announced for Rhea? Anyway, its essentially a queue that you can set your known spy or awoer in your corp, so at DT it will auto kick them. A nice change

It may not be at DT. It may be 'next time they dock or disconnect'

The example given involved what's currently possible, where an awoxer remains in space (unkickable), stays logged in till downtime (where they disconnect) and the director isn't faster than them logging in (while they're disconnected, hence kickable) to kick them, so they're back in space, and unkickable.

As an Australian player, I would like to take the opportunity to remind CCP that DT is evil and must be stopped!

CCP Fozzie confirms that it is indeed linked specifically to DT for technical reasons: https://twitter.com/CCP_Fozzie/status/524085696974553088

If there's someone at CCP working on unlinking the corp-kick-queue from DT (and, say, linking it to session changes or logout) and would work faster with more pizza, please contact me Lol

My mistake then Smile Teachs me right for reading more into it than was there. Dratted 'Technical issues' spoiling all our fun.

I like this ... but DT is enough.

Awoxers wanna have their fun too.

Screw awoxers. They have 23.5 hours which is enough. Corps should have a way to recover without the sort of corp camping nonsense that goes on.

While this will make extorting a corp for isk to make me leave hard, Ill just have to switch up to joining corps with shiny ships and ransom the ships instead of the corp as a whole.

Its a shame when CCP helps remove consequences of CEO's and Recruiters choices in who they recruit, or their blind recruitment of obvious awoxers.

They're not.
You're just talking out of your ass.

There's a difference between removing consequences ...
... and removing your ability to annoy people infinitely long ...
... which actually means that they remove your ability to stay in corp infinitely ...
... without any consequences.

I don't want to annoy people infinitely long, I want to be paid. Now that is no longer an option. So the members will have to make payment for their shiny ships instead of the corp making payment to get rid of me.

Which again as I said is fine. I don't mind either way. However if the CEO and Recruitment officers did their job, it wouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

I understand that, tbh.

When they know you will be kicked anyway,
they won't pay anything.

So I guess what's left is to wait to the proper moment and
killing whatever they have that's worth killing... or stealing it, of course.

I guess there's the issue with people who are being paid ...
... and still refuse to leave corp.

The only thing that's left in such a case is to drop corp ...
... which is a sad option, because then the awoxxer will own it.

Hmpf.

In my experience, the type of corps I join and extort or awox shouldn't exist in the first place.

The CEO is either too new to know whats what in eve or Its a vet who is taking advantage of new players. If not for me now, they would find someone else later that would do worse.

And honestly in most cases the best thing that corp could do is close its doors and the members could move onto a corp that will support and take care of them, instead of bleed them dry and abuse them.

There are many of these corps.

I wardecced one of these so called new player friendly corps myself.
The CEO even sits in a rookie system. He does exactly what one expects.

Run a big mouth and not teaching the players properly.
Sadly there is nothing that can be done against these people.
A few noobs dropped corp after I killed things ...
... and I even sent a mail to all of them explaining the situation.

In the end, though, nothing changes.

Most people in thag corp don't even log in anymore. I blame him,
tbh, because one can certainly make people hooked to the game ...

... but not as stupid carebear CEO.

That would be me! The initial version of the auto-kick will run on cluster start-up because it is the one time point when we can be certain that the kick will always succeed. Now that we (soon) will have the mechanism for adding characters to the auto-kick queue, we can then look at processing the queue at other occasions - either periodically, or on event (such as dock). The current planned behaviour is the one that has the minimal design change, and hence is the easiest one to start with. From there we can look at the general gameplay around changing corps whilst in space, as this starts to become a more complex issue with more interactions that need consideration.

BTW linking it directly to logout wouldn't necessarily solve the requirement of getting rid of someone who doesn't want to leave, because a] they can just not log out, much as they don't do already, and b] even when they do, their ship is still in space for some time. If you've managed to catch a war-target and they can use this feature to logoffski with a kick-queue, you don't want their ship to suddenly leave the corp and become a non-legal target. This is the sort of thing I mean where we'll need to take a look at the overall gameplay around joining/leaving corps whilst in space.

And yes, we're fully aware of the problems that DT causes, particularly for players in timezones such as yours. This is the sort of thing we have in mind when we do things like fix up sig IDs to stay consistent over downtime. We are trying to tackle this on three fronts:
1) Make downtimes shorter
2) Make downtimes less painful (eg preserving sig IDs)
3) And ultimately trying to get rid of them as a daily occurrence
I believe we're making decent progress on 1 and 2. Work on part 3 is still ongoing

What about awoxxers who will lose a part of their playstyle because of this?
