Since there was absolutely no mention or reference to missiles with the new "glass cannons"… Can we infer that missile users are once again getting the shaft?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Or you could do the reasonable thing and assume it's just a figure of speech and that there will be one for all the classic highslot weapons systems, like everyone else in EVE.

Well the last time we got glass cannon ships we didn't get a missile version, so if you're a missile specialist it's entirely reasonable to fear a repeat of what happened. Maybe even more so, since the missile tier 3 BC did exist, but it was scrapped after testing.

I think that by far the safest thing to infer is that players will wildly speculate and start acting with a victim complex based on next to no concrete information.

at eve vegas they "spoilered" some kind of new weapon system that hits like a truck but drops your resists to 0...

Now i want to know if they'll do a smartbomb version! (the hilarity of a 0 resist to own damage type piebombing fleet is just hilarious to me)

Has there any actual mentioning of the new weapons being new variants of existing weapons or an entirely new weapons group, that just requires extreme specialization in existing weapons to unlock? It would make more sense, since I can't see how a missile system or autocannon/artillery system would make sense with the proposed mechanic. I realize gameplay comes before lore and all that, but if it is something entirely new, they would both mesh better and I've read nothing to exclude that possibility.

Or you could do the same reasonable thing as everyone, look at the precedent (Attack battlecruisers, 1 for each race), see that they skipped missiles in favour of two hybrid boats, and realize there's a decent chance there will not be a missile boat, considering the flak missile boats often get for pvp, as unwarranted as it may be.

Something with the mordu's missile speed bonus would be really nice, as opposed to yet another railgun oriented ship that piddles out a couple damage per volley.

It's a weapon, not a ship. Infact it's a T2 compatible faction priced weapon. So no, you're not being profound.

I'm speculateing since its basicly a "meta" adjustment the glassy weapons (wouldn't it be cool if they actually would be see trough) would exist for all shapes and sizes. I wonder if there will be glass drones ?

The first of the ABC had the Naga as a Torpedo/Cruise Missile boat. And after overwhelming disagreement, CCP changed it to a long range rail platform. If I remember it correctly, one of the arguments against it was that it would put out insane DPS, higher than the Talos today. Application problems with missiles were another mentioned problem, which would hamper the missile damage in some situations.

I doubt that this (opinion and damage application) has changed a lot in recent times.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

The cruise missile changes would probably make a Cruise Naga viable. Also, RHML's might work.

I would freaking love a Navy Issue Naga that was missile based.

Say:
5% bonus to Cruise, Torpedo and Heavy missile damage
10% bonus to Cruise and Torpedo missile explosion radius

Role bonus:
200% bonus to missile velocity
50% penalty to missile flight time

You could train some Gunnery skills then you will not be left out....

You mean like how everyone adapted and trained up missiles and didnt cry like little girls until they were nerfed?

You're still right about cross training though, still it would be nice to have a reason to fit missiles other than nostalgic value.

That would be pretty damn powerful. A 50% bonus to explosion radius is huuuuuuuge bonus to application, enough so that blapping would be a thing. If it had 8 launchers and using cruise missiles you could do c. 1000dps with a c. 8000 volley using cruise missiles, out to a 200km+ range, with perfect damage selection, with missiles having an explosion radius of about 140. With some rigor rigs you could probably get in sub 100m.
