Game Won't Load (Black Screen)

When I open the game client via the shortcut on my desktop, about half the time my monitor goes black and doesn't load the game. I can hear the Eve music in the background but the screen image never loads. I cannot Alt-Tab or Alt-Escape out and end up having to reboot my computer. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? I never had this issue pre-Crucible...

Started having this issue yesterday as well. I've reinstalled twice, wiped any existence of EVE on my computer, all to no avail.

I had this too... Client starts, but screen never clears to login. Black screen w/ Crucibble theme playin...
I did everything (BUT clear my settings, cleared cache in Esc screen and manually, fergot settings)... even went so far as to rename old EVE dir and reinstall the client fresh (using old settings) and still exactly the same issue.

Setup a new HD (xmass present 250GB, old 160GB was chokin), installed XP to EVE clean. Works fine on the new HD... copied old settings over and BOOM, Black Screen of Rage.

Popped in old HD, cleared settings and Im back in... sheesh. SO, seems I have a back-up, fully loaded, ready to roll EVE Drive... Schweet.... =]
