Self-destruct option for outposts

EVE history is scattered with the corpses of alliances and corps that were killed from the inside. Hell we even did it to ourselves. You put this in and we will end up nuking an enemies staging station.

They may need to google just how the Goons vs BoB war ended.

Remember Bobby? One day he woke up, did his usual morning things then said I know what I am going to do today. And killed Atlas with a few button clicks. Also showed titans 4 you to be the scam many predicted by taking the isk. Give Bobby credit, he went all out to making people unhappy when he put his mind to it. Bobby was not even an infiltrator or defector. As I heard it he just got really disgruntled one day and said screw it.

Take away is you kind of want the stations to not be killed off. I was in IT for example. And when kartoon was bill paying impaired I heard many happy fleet mates saying how great it was to get their stuff back as we reclaimed delve and quelrious (spelling I know, hated the area and cba to look it up). As they lost access when (grrr) goons killed the BoB alliance off.

Well that and I sure as hell don't want another person following in Bobby's footsteps and killing stations off just because they are in a bad mood lol.

So why only possible to cancel the timer during the first 2h? I mean with that kind of scenario you could ninja an outpost during, say, sov transfer, initiate the timer, hold the post for 2h and it would no longer matter if the owners come back in force next day and take it back?

In general I have a feeling this things is not properly thought through. Number of issues related to the destructible outposts have been discussed in one of the first threads where dev's announced their plan to make outposts destructible: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=351648
