CCP: An idea about how to efficiently gift remaps.

Disclaimer: This is just an idea I had. I am not an expert in the matter of attributes and remaps and redeemables. It may be pants-on-head ******** for all I know.

I was just thinking to myself how would I handle the issue of bonus remaps if I was CCP? It's a tricky issue, should gift remaps reset your remap timer? If not, does the timer reset if you have two remaps and you use one of them?

And then I hit upon a solution. Don't gift remaps, gift remap timer fastforwards. These would work exactly like refunded SP, you have a stock of remap time that you can freely apply whenever you want. Happy Holidays guys, we've added 6 months to your remap fastforward pool.

Pros:

-This would benefit everyone equally (instead of the dichotomy now where if you already have a remap, an additional remap is very valuable, allowing you to remap for a couple months of leadership skills and then back to your main attribute spread, but if you're only a month away from getting your remap an additional one is pretty much useless).

-CCP would be able to give gifts of increments less than a remap (you can't gift half a remap)

Cons:

-Would require additional dev time to implement, I don't know if this is even possible server-code-techno-magic wise.

I'm looking forward to January when I'll have double remaps (yearly one + gift one) on my main characters. It's going to save me a significant amount of training time by throwing everything into intelligence / memory before I switch back to full perception / willpower again.

remap is currently gone from the list of options.
