Just curious if anyone uses a GTX760 (or two) for playing... What are the frame rates like?

A 760 runs me about $240, so two of them is like $480... a 4770k is $360... no idea what mobo I'm using yet, but from price hunting for the past week, it looks like I'm spending $200-400 on that as well...

When did computers get this expensive? Yeesh...

I'd try and stay away from sli if you can really help it. The GTX970 would have similar performance of two 760 in sli but in a single card with less heat and power consumption all for a lower price.

Also if you're set on an i7, don't get that 4770k get the haswell refresh i7-4790 instead. It should be about the same price as that older i7 and it has better thermals than the 4770k. If you're only running a few eve clients then you could save some money and just get an i5 which has plenty of power.

As for the motherboard, don't over do it. You really don't need anything fancy here unless you have a ton of hard drives to hook up or want to do crazy stuff like triple SLI. Any motherboard from Gigabyte or Asus for around $150 would be just fine.
