jump drive SP, what do you think?

I just trained into a Jump Freighter and am still working on the calibration and fuel economy skills. I hope if the calibration skill becomes less- or non-useful in November, my SP would be refunded so I could decide whether to keep it in that skill, or put it into something different.

CCP has not released enough information so I know if I should change my plan. What do you think, Internet Space Pilots?

they will never refund anything ever again, unless they outright decide to remove a skill, instead of changing what the skill does. if they didn't do it for adv industry, they wont do it for any Jump skills.

Take the simplest route and train it to 4, and if it does turn into a useless skill you wish you never trained, then you can consider it to be just another one of your mining skills.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

Good luck getting a skill refund as it will still be useful.

In respect of SP reimbursement you have 2 hopes, and Bob has been dead since 2003.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I've got to say, as someone who has been playing eve for only 6 months, this is especially frustrating. I was already annoyed when I trained a bunch into rigging skills, some of which are currently useless (CCP will revisit drawbacks...) and changes to my drone skills were confusing (and my drone range & skill queue bugged for a day or two), although I don't think they disadvantaged me.

CCP Folks, if you are going to make frequent changes like this, maybe you should revisit issuing SP refunds.

If you refund my Jump Drive Calibration SP and I decide I still want those points in that skill, I'll just put them back into it. If I don't, at least I can put those SP into something different; so I have less reason to be aggravated.

I am actually looking forward to this change. My JF pilot will soon have a brother in arms. I'm beginning to learn how to adapt.

This is really at the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to skill changes which should deserve an SP refund. Ie trying to get CCP to give out SP refunds is like trying to get blood from a stone.

personally i think JDO (jump drive operation) should give you +1 ly jump range per level

JDO 1 = 1LY
JDO 2 = 2LY
JDO 3 = 3LY
JDO 4 = 4LY
JDO 5 = 5LY

JDC (Jump drive calibration) should be reworked to combat the the new fatigue system by iva reduceing the cool down by a X% per level or modifying the base

Interesting - calibration will be FUBAR with the changes.

Base would need to be around 2.22223 ly to hit 5ly with 125% (trained to 5).

That skill needs to go. It's already seen as "mandatory 5" by "most" for any actual jump usage (/tips hat to wormholes who snicker at jump drives for "using capitals")

JDO makes sense the way you have it laid out but that JDC... It needs to be prerequisite to fly at all or flat out removed (with refund).

JDC V will be at once important (to get to the magical 5 LY) but at the same time, you have alternatives...

JDC will become practically useless....

That is, unless you change JF's so that they can make jumps more than 5 light years... Otherwise JF will become entirely crap.

Should JF's get a base LY range of say, 10 LY, then JDC V would become more useful.

In any case, only train JDC IV for now.

I would hold off on training the skill if you expect the changed to be a drag....like every cap pilot in eve.

The jumping going to take longer, more jumps use more fuel and every jump you do will need to be at a station which will probably have someone willing to pop your cyno ship or an empty system with a cloaking device (unless you start fling a jf, you cant cloak those freaking things)

Well, it's a tough decision. If JDC continues to give jump range, maybe having JDC 5 will increase the value of my JF post-patch, and JF pilots who don't have it may be in a hurry to suddenly get it.

On the other hand, if CCP modifies the skill to do something I think isn't useful, basically I'm paying for 36 days of skill training time to get level 5 and that would sure aggravate me if it became useless to me.

i like this option :P

CCP should create somthing simular to the rescult char option but for skill points,

this however should be limited to a single chance to do it on an account so you buy the item from market reallocate all your "wasted" skill point and then from that moment on your stuck with your allocation never to be changed again,
