Help with a fit for a nightmare from a returning player

Hello All

I played many years ago and just decided to come back. Before I left I had just got a new Nightmare and I need help fitting it. I searched these forums and battle clinic .. and almost everything I got was years old. So here I am hoping for some help.

Basically I am going to mainly be using this in Amar and Caldari space, so hopefully I will get to fight a lot of Sancha and guristas. I have decided on Tachs as my primary weapon. I have perfect cap/fitting skills. Right now this is my fit for lvl 4's.. Once I get used to the mechanics of the game and figure out everything that has changed I will head back into low sec or wormholes but for now simple mission running seems prudent and fun since I don't remember them all...

Current fit
H- 4 tach tech 2
salvager
drone range

Mid- AB- going around 1K in a BS with a AB is insane btw
Tracking comp- 40~45K optimal with MF on tachs
Cap injector-800-
3 hardeners- I also tried 3 invul fields which was not that bad or different except for EM..
1 X-L shield booster
Low- 3 faction HS
-2 tracking enhancers
-1DC

Everything is Tech 2 except the HS, so Im not as much of a gank target. But here are my questions

-What rigs should I use? Basically right now I'm ALMOST cap stable running the guns(faction MF) /hardeners/TC/DC so as long as I don't use the AB or shield booster.. I don't really need more cap and I am stable (without AB or shield booster) using faction ultraviolet ammo(80k optimal). Because I was just going to put on 1 or 2 CCC lvl 2.. but it almost seems like a waste?

-I have plenty of left over CPU and powergrid.. any suggestions? I can fit a Energy Discharge Elutriation 2 rig without any trouble, but I don't really need the cap that much.

- Can you still do a "passive" tank? if I use 5 or 6 slots for it? 4-5 mid (if I get rid of the cap injector) and 1 low? I do expect to use hardeners/invuls or other active modules for the "passive" tank. Is it possible? or a good idea?

-EM rig.. so if it fit 2 150 calibration rigs that only leaves me with 50 for a em field 1.. and right now against EM opponents Im not really having trouble unless that use Ewar (TD) against me because they simply melt, and the different would be 80%~ resist to 90%~ resist which is not that huge.. but I might be wrong

. -Should I upgrade my guns to faction? or the shield booster if I "need" an active tank?

-Can/should I get rid of the cap injector? It seems like a crutch but since everything uses cap.. the thing is that I have done multiple missions without even needing it so it seems like a waste...

-Anything else I am missing, or good idea

I will say that this Nightmare is about twice as fast as my old Apoc was at missioning.. its a lot of fun but I know I can do better I'm just not sure how. Thanks for any help or advice!

Here's what I came up with that should be slightly faster at running the missions than your current ship. tractor is to grab any mission items a bit faster. Would not go faction on guns, as the lost DPS from specialization skills is not worth the improved cap IMO.

If you intend to bling it, the place I would start is with a GIST booster of whatever grade you choose. I would go GIST over Pith because of the lower cap cost on a cap hungry ship with good resists.

Cap injector is almost certainly wasted except against blood raiders, who neut as their primary EWAR, so keeping it to toss back on in a blood mission isn't a bad idea.

EM rig isn't going to be a bad idea if you wanted to drop to 2 mids for resists and thus have more space for a cap recharger or battery. If cap starts getting to be a real problem, or you want passive EM resists, the C type deadspace mods (with compensation) are reasonably comparable to t2 EM ward fields for resists but entirely passive. Con is they cost 30-50m and put a deadspace icon on someone's ship scan.

Passive tanks are possible, but considering the relatively low (for a pirate battleship) shield buffer and lack of a native resist bonus on a t1 resist profile, it is probably not the way to go IMO.

This is what i used to run ages ago when i did missions. i updated it when they added the 6th low.
I haven't run this since the NM changes, but it used to run really well before, so as the NM was buffed....
Also Imp Navy are cheaper than Sansha by 8mil each.

the nightmare pretty much hasn't changed in years, The AB bonus is a cool extra, and the extra lowslot is nice.

as for rigs, I still don't really think there are must have rigs for a NM. I'd take semiconductor memory cells over CCCs, for how fast it rips through missions the extra cap buffer is usually better.

These are my EFT warrior fits. The first has SMCs and quite a lot of cap, the other has a t2 rof rig and some extra dps. There are a few slight differences in slots that are really just up to personal preference. Pith boosters are rather cheap in jita. 4x heat sinks is recommended. I can't argue too much either way for a DC II or a tracking enhancer in the 6th low, little more tank or gank, personally I tend to lean to gank. As for the mids, 3 slot tank and a cap injector are pretty much standard. that gives 3 slots for a prop mod, tc, and/or sensor boosters. Again mostly personal preference, I usually have one of each.

Did you not look at the linked fit? 100mn AB, t2.

I don't believe I am going to say this BUT...

don't go for a nightmare... to get it to truly shine you need a fair bit in ded mods.

go hard out for a paladin.

if you want some info on a quiet place to run lvl 4's in peace... send me a ingame mail.

I'll tell you how to make a **** tonne of isk via this one agent.

be warned it is a true high sec island so you may not like it overly much.
