This is a straightforward proposal for consideration: Expanded L4 burner missions for:
· Cruisers (including HACs and Strategic Cruisers)
· Battlecruisers/Battleships (including Command Ships and Marauders)

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Only if they are actually intended and designed for real PVP fits.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

You do understand that Burner Missions were never intended to teach or resemble PvP, right? They're not some sort of "Ship PvP Trainer/Simulator". They're just supposed to be comparatively super-hard PvE content.

I would be fine with lvl 5 burners with a marauder primary NPCs with fast battlecruiser and cruiser escorts. That being said I think they are hilarious and they should implement OP NPCs like them in more situations; *cough officers cough*.

Do you know where you find this type of missions? Correct: in faction warfare. Do you know what people do there? Correct. They don't use PVP fits for the missions (exceptions prove the rule); instead they fit stabs and cloaks and fly frigs or otherwise cheap ships. Do you have any justification to impose PVP fittings on normal missions, which are designed to fight against NPC and not Players, and which is why it is called PVE? Correct. You don't. Can you teach how to properly PVP with NPC who follow scripted actions and do not act with the completely random madness players do? Correct. You cannot.

So, what can you do with Burner missions? You can make players use specific fittings to counter the burner specialties. But these fittings have next to nothing to do with PVP fittings. I beat a Burner agent with a Retribution without any tackle or propmod, simply because I needed the TCs to make my guns track and because it is pointless to move around in any case as I am webbed to standstill. This has about as much todo with PVP as the current behavior of so many FW farmers has.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Which is why they suck.

They were kinda pushed as missions to bridge the gap between PvE and PvP by teaching people about counters.

Having no first-hand experience about them I can hardly say whether they worked well to that end or not, but judging by the fact that they seem to basically require blingy and gimmicky fits I'm inclined to believe they could've done a better job.

You are correct. They are nothing like real PVP. Having done them, they are the most gimmicky aspect of PVE in Eve right now. Most of the missions I have done you barely even move your ship. Complete waste of content as far as I am concerned.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

QFT

Frigate burner missions blow. Very, very poorly thought out and unimaginative. Especially when the goal was to get Carebears to consider PvP.
