Hello everyone!

As the title suggests, I am looking for confirmation or suggestions for ships and possibly fits that fit the specific criteria. Currently I am training up for T2 Heavy Missiles for the Drake. I use the Drake to solo C2 sites. I've heard that the Tengu is a great ship to solo C3s. I have better Gunnery and Armor skills but I am switching to Caldari ships (missile-oriented ones). My corp usually flies with an Armor RR fleet doctrine, so would a Tengu be undesirable for that circumstance, and would the Legion be a better alternative? I prefer lower-massed ships, so Battleships aren't what I am ideally searching for, but I will train for one if it is the best idea. I have been rambling, so to summarize what I am asking is:

• Would a Tengu be the best ship to solo C3 sites?
• If I decided to use a Tengu for C3s, should I also train for the Legion to fit with my corp's doctrine for C4s C5s?
• Although I prefer cruiser / battlecruiser hulls, would training for a Marauder be a good long term goal for C5s?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the assistance. I have one more question, that involves the more PVP side of things, unlike my previous PVE ones. If I was looking to also skill into a PVP T3 that uses a cloak, would the Proteus be the best option, or should I go for the Loki in which I can switch it from PVP (cloaky gank and webs) to PVE (double webs to help dreads blap Sleepers).

Once again, thanks people!

Your best bet is to fly a fully faction fit Marauder. Give me the J code and a way in and I'll show you the ropes.

Asked and answered numerous times.

It may have given several potential ship combinations for each Class' Anoms, but in my opinion, didn't answer my specific questions. If you think it did, explain. I may just be missing something here.

It used to be Raven/Typhoon for c3s atleast, not sure about solo now with much-rumored sleeper RR.

Sleeper RR isn't a rumor, unless they now have local reps. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure they RR, if my memory serves me correctly, it is the battleship "Sleepless Preserver" for either C2/C3.

Any T3 ship can solo C3 site but you will need good skills and good fit (with some faction and or officer) specially since the RR has been fix. Even with that, it will be kinda long but easily doable.

Tengu is mostly shield tanking so it won't fit with your armor doctrine corp but it's the best ship for PvE in my opinion. You will have to make a choice here either tengu for best PvE or another armor tank T3 that will be able to clear C3 and have good synergy with your corp.

For PvP, any T3 is good. You just need a fit for PvP and a fit for PvE.

For C5, I heard that marauder can be a thing if you are 3-4 but if you guys are more, just use battleship and or T3.

Hope I could help .

I'd be a bit more sceptical of solo marauders in C5's now with the RR fix.

Default move for sites c1 through c3 is the Tengu, but a Legion also works.

But honestly, you can bring a battlecruiser for 1/6th of the price and do sites in that in c1's through c3's.

As everybody says... bring a drake.

Yaay!!!!

Thanks for the good responses and for those who put in effort to help. I think I'll be training for the Tengu for now, because I already have almost T2 HMs. I'll save the Legion/LoKi for a later date, probably when we switch holes.

Once again, thanks people!

C5 isn't practical or efficient w/o capital escalations. You are better off in a 4-4 or a 2-4.

Just because they aren't efficient, does not mean you don't do them.

If we wanted the most efficient way of making ISk in eve and order everybody to do that, it'd be nothing but market chars or people spending $1,000 on plex.

Win that said, with the rr fix, doing c5's is harder.

Yaay!!!!

Purger fit Drakes or Active Rep Tengus for C3 sites work great. Tengu has the added benefit of being useful in an RR Tengu ball for running C4 sites but it sounds like that isn't useful for your corps doctrine. I never cared for armor doctrines for C4 PVE as shield just seems to work better. Not saying it can't be done, we used to roll armor PVP fleets, run C4 sites, and wait to get jumped. Big smile

So to specifically answer your questions:

PVE
1) Tengu is great for solo C3 but a Drake can do it as well at far lower cost
2) Tengu RR ball is and has always been great for C4 sites although not currently one of the fastest methods. Legion is a fine ship but overall, armor doctrine is not great for C4 sites. But fly what you like as I am not trying to make the ISK efficiency argument here.
3) I would personally skip the Marauder train for the sole purpose of running C5 sites.

PVP
1) A Loki is a great multi-purpose ship and you can't go wrong there. But people have preferences. I personally hate my Proteus so it gathers dust, others swear by them. Tengu is/was my most successful PVP T3 followed closely by Legions, depends on the fleet comp though. Training all cruisers to V and sub-systems to at least 4 offers you HUGE flexibility and long-term is probably the best decision you could make. That alone opens up an absolutely amazing number of useful ships in wspace with just a little additional training.

Best of luck!
