Ok guys; this is not a game that will threaten Eve, but if you loved Master of Orion and/or Master of Orion 2; then it is worth a look. MORE the game is a modern redo of Master of Orion 2. It was launched as a Kickstarter project. I will be honest, it is behind schedule, but it is about to start alpha and beta testing with the game release in 2015. The videos the team have released recently, showing various aspects of the game are cause for excitement.

Let’s face it there are several occasions when you have a little time free, but not enough to run a mission or do anything of importance in Eve. This could be a way to occupy that time and have fun. You can set several parameters and dive in. The size of galaxy to conquer can be set from small to over 1000 star systems each can have as many as 10 planets. I have included the text from Calavero; one of the team leaders.

They are currently in the middle of a second Kickstarter attempting to fund a few stretch goals. The game itself will be released whether this funding campaign succeeds or not.

Hello
I want to share with EVE community information about 4x turn based space strategy named: M.O.R.E. It aims to be a Master of Orion II successor. You can check more details about this game on the Kickstarter webpage, where they'e are now trying to raise game budget:

Oh, it just seems tacky to me. MORE. Like the name of a quick indie game on Kontraband. When I saw the title of the thread I thought it was going to be a mock Self-Help post. But I like 4X and the game looks interesting, so I'll check it out.

I was a huge fan of Master of Orion 2, but wasn't Space Empires V already the nonofficial successor?

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I had never heard of that one; was it any good. I guess there can be many unofficial successors.

I'm always ready for a good turn-base strategy game. GL with it MORE. Haven't check out the page yet, but if it's truly a space chess/grognard grand strategy game, I'll check it out.

  • Distant Worlds: Universe - This is really a 4X sim, everything or nothing can be automated.
  • Galactic Civilizations II - The real spiritual successor to MOO2, IMHO
  • Galactic Civilizations III - Early beta, but playable, I've had crash issues (keep an eye on this one).
  • Horizon - Haven't played it yet
  • Endless Space
  • Star Ruler

But in purple, I'm stunning!

I'll take a look at it. 4X is 4ME.

Also, Endless Space is terribly underrated.

More of the same good stuff from Gal Civ II. Better interface. Better ship-builder. It will be great when they stabilize it (I bought the founder's pack).
