Yes another Mine Whine. Mining is 0.0 is much more "interesting" than mining in Empire but guess where most of our minerals come from (No, Drones got hammered finally)? Yes, Empire thru an abused game mechanic called Compression. You know take Minerals convert to ammo, load onto a JF, bring to 0.0, un-compress and Voila! all those minerals needed to build with minimum loss from the compression process.

How about making the Un-Compression part more costly CCP. You could scale it so that un-compressing a small amount of ammo yields the same as today. Larger amounts yields less and less (we can talk specifics after you agree with the basic premise. This idea accomplishes two goals: Primus, it makes JF's a bit less relevant (burn them all i say) and Secundus, it makes mining locally more of a necessity to keep prices reasonable (of course local miners would get paid more too) and would also increase the target value of mining OPs in 0.0 for the PvPers. Win-Win.

I await your platitudes, acceptance and immediate implementation of this idea. TIA. Bear

First you need to know if null sec belt have all the minerals needed to sustain themselves. I mean, where is the most basic mineral, needed for everything, found? The answer is in high sec. There are some in w-space, but it's not as easily available and minable as in high sec.

Just make every minerals available in null sec and your null sec alliance going to high sec problem will be solved. Plus it will be more logical and realistic that way.

I disagree.

There is plenty of basic minerals available in null sec.
I would say even more than in high sec as the roid size is larger, since most of them aren't even touched.

W-space depends on the gravimetric finds... which can be very lucrative.

Most of the Minerals needed to build consist of the low end ores like Tritanium. The minerals contained in ABC ores are a tiny amount % wise and most of that gets sold in Empire for Isk. If you've ever seen a Trit asteroid in 0.0, you'd know that if you rammed a rocket onto it you'd basically have an Amarr Titan Cool
